Heavy’s is hands down the best soul food spot in the St. Petersburg area! I knew the food was going to be amazing the moment I saw the whole okra on top of the peas — just like my grandmother used to do. The smothered turkey wings were tender and full of flavor, and the collard greens and mac & cheese were both spot-on. I even grabbed a chitlin plate to go! Everything tasted homemade and seasoned with love. Definitely coming back again — this place feels like Sunday dinner at Grandma’s house! 🍽️💛
The food was excellent! Serious Home Cooked Soul Food. They also give you great portions! The Sampler is a great way to try several of the items on the menu. There's actually a few tables to eat there but most people get their orders to go! If you're looking for some Great Food this is your place and very friendly staff.
Heavy’s Restaurant is hands-down one of the best spots I’ve ever eaten at. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed like family. The staff is genuine, friendly, and you can tell they truly care about your experience. But the real star? The food. Every bite is packed with flavor, made with love, and leaves you wanting more. Whether it’s the perfectly seasoned meats, the sides that taste like home-cooked heaven, or the portions that don’t mess around—Heavy’s delivers every single time. This place isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a whole vibe. Don’t miss it!
Please listen to me when I say my husband & I are thought we were going into a state of euphoria lol from this food. This was our first visit and we agree heads down - please try it ❤️❤️❤️ We got there early and thought - we had a few minutes to kill and one back . We arrived at 11:40 am and there was a lineeeeee. Not much room where you place your order be mindful of that. There is an item called 'Michelle Obama ' it is not on the menu . It is a drink mixed with tropical punch kool aid and lemonade - it is sweet . I wish I ordered two 🥴🥴🥴😮💨. We tried the oxtail dinner, smothered pork chops and fried chicken . Everything was perfection !!!!! Highly recommend if you are in the St. Petersburg area - it is only like 2 miles off 275 interstate - easy to find ❤️❤️❤️
