Delightfully quaint quaint little bakery and Cafe. Coffee was delicious but cold when I got it. Highly recommend the sweet potato curry soup and the sourdough was amazing. Yum! And the whole place smelled amazing!
My very first visit was awesome. I loved it so much I was recommending people to go and always asking if friends would like to meet there for lunch. The second visit with a friend, terrible. Service was extremely slow and my friend asked for a grilled cheese like she saw the one online and they gave her a different sandwich that was gross. I felt so bad. After a few weeks later, I decided to give them another chance, maybe they were having a bad day? Maybe not… cause today was just as bad. 1. The wait was outrageous. 2. My husband doesn’t like black Olives, orders the Italian grinder with no black olives. Receive a sandwich packed with black olives. 3. I ordered a half sandwich and soup, tasted the soup and it was cold. Took it back, they popped it on the microwave and gave it back, the outside of the container was hot (which is how I knew it was microwaved) but the actual soup? Luke warm. Decided to take it to go so I can nuke it at home to actually eat it. Safe to say, we will not be back. I will no longer recommend people here nor meet people here for lunch.
I waited 40 minutes for an egg and bacon sandwich. What were they doing back there? Chasing chickens for the eggs? Curing the bacon? The sandwich wasn’t worth the price or the wait.
Read reviews before our trip so had to visit. We got to Anchorage and picked up our Camper Jeep nearby then stopped by for a sliced loaf of sourdough and some cookies and bars for our camping trip! Today we are traveling home and stopped by before returning our jeep! We had a cinnamon roll with nuts, drip coffee, water and an Alaskan Fusion Panini (I think that’s what it was called) on sourdough! We also got lemon bars for the flights home! Everything is so fresh and delicious! I wish we had places like this in Central Florida! The girls that work here are very helpful with sharing what they like and suggest. There are only a few employees in there at a time so have patience! Must visit on your Alaskan adventure!!
I ate here when they first opened and thought it was fine, but coming back recently I really enjoyed it. The fireplace and seating is cozy and offers good options for conversation. The bread tastes very home made and hearty, I had a bowl of their roasted pepper soup and thought it was really, really good. It comes with two pieces of whatever bread you'd like on the side--not just a piece cut into two reasonable, but two full pieces. All for under $10. Seemed like a good price for a good meal. The cinnamon rolls they had on display looked especially delicious, I just didn't have any room to try them!
