Cool place!! Awesome selection of Men’s & Women’s clothing!
Such an amazing, curated *true* vintage store. The woman working was beyond kind and even brought my dog a bow of water. Great prices, great scores! Highly recommend.
I’ve been shopping at How Sweet It Was for over 25 years, 4th Ave, 6th St, and now on Broadway. I can honestly say it’s one of my favorite places for vintage treasures. Crissy is truly the best of the best—always kind, welcoming, and knowledgeable. From the moment you walk in, everyone is made to feel at home. It’s hard to describe the magic of the shopping experience, but I can tell you this: it has absolutely nothing to do with race, creed, sexual orientation, or financial background. I’m a Black man, and in all my years here, I’ve only ever been treated with dignity, respect, and genuine warmth.
I was so excited to find a vintage store when I moved here and even more excited that they do buy. Unfortunately, they hang up on me twice when I called like they asked me to . But when I got inside the lady took took 2 sec and said..there was a stain on one of my dress (a dot) ont it while going through someone's else clothes that looked way washed out and old. Gave me such a bad taste. Mind you, I've been inside the store and looked at their clothes some with marks and stains. I don't know if it was because I was black but whatever it is, that was in poor taste. All my garments were actually vintage clothes because I got them at a vintage store myself. Won't be coming back here, I will take my business else were. I love my vitange clothes and will go where I'm appreciated and treated with care like my vitange clothes. The woman was very unfriendly too. She took one look at me and couldn't even pretend to be interested in my clothes. My black sisters and brothers, please take your business elsewhere.
This vintage shop is a hidden gem — an enchanting time capsule where every piece is thoughtfully curated and lovingly preserved. Stepping inside feels like drifting through decades, with garments that whisper stories of style and grace from another era. It’s a treasure trove for old souls and fashion seekers alike. Highly recommend.
