If you are someone looking to know more about local history. This tour is for you. It starts off at the Beacon building complex that was once a hospital until the 1980s and ends at the gravesite of some of the founders of Jersey City connecting to the city’s colonial past. You ever wondered why New Jersey’s NHL team is called the Devils? Well you will learn about the origins of the Jersey Devil and the sighting of the Jersey Devil in Jersey City. I loved the rich local history I learned though out the tour. My tour guide Makeda was very engaging and knowledgeable about the local history. Presenting facts that I as a native New Jerseyan did not know. I will come back to this tour again in the future especially during the Halloween season.
Our tour guide, Hunter, was so great--knowledgeable, professional, and fun. We had a wonderful Halloween night tour. Hunter took us from Hague Maternity Hospital, to the Beacon, to the Old Bergen Church Cemetery and several other interesting stops along the way. He asked us questions about our beliefs in ghosts, provided historical details, and told us what people have encountered at each location in more modern times. The only caution I would offer about this tour was that we parked in an area that required us to walk through some questionable sections of town to get to the tour location. As with any city, be mindful when walking around / back to your car. Overall we had a great time and would definitely recommend Hunter as your guide for this tour.
I wanted to try out a more "local" ghost tour and saw Jersey City on the list. We had a nice time learning about history and local myths. Hunter was a knowledgeable and friendly tour guide. Would book another city tour!!

We truly enjoyed the Jersey City Ghost Tour. My boyfriend and I, both being Jersey City residents since birth, were amazed to learn of the rich history hidden within our hometown. From the heartbreaking tales to the horrific, our tour guide, Anthony, enthusiastically made the past come to life with his knowledge of folklore and history. I highly recommend this tour to all the history buffs seeking a great night out on the town. Thank you Anthony!
