Good meditation instruction but could you pls solve the bug issue? It’s super annoying to be surrounded by flying bugs in the meditation room. It hurts the experience
This is my go to place when I need peace and a place to feel safe and calm. My experiences here throughout the years (I discovered jikoji maybe 10 years ago (!)) have been without fail a balm when I need it most. The gentleness of every aspect of this environment (physical structures, natural environment, people inhabiting) takes me out of my vortex and helps me land back on solid ground. I'm very grateful to have found this place and grateful to the people who maintain its peaceful and kind energy
Such a peaceful place with Sunday programs. After meditation you can get a meal with likeminded people. I love this group. Wish there was something like this in the NYC area. I come here every time I visit the Bay Area.
I came here 2 times, and really enjoyed the meditation practice (sitting and walking), the teaching, the lunch, the community. I have made a commitment to come here every 2 weeks even though I live far away. There is a bad review about "emotionally abusive behaviors toward women by one of the newly instated guiding teacher". I personally haven't seen any of that. Everyone is welcoming and treated with respect.
We had the pleasure of visiting the Zen center last Sunday and exploring the tranquil trails leading to the Long Ridge Open Space Preserve. The center's serene ambiance was simply breathtaking. At lunchtime, we gathered in the dining room, where the gracious host enlightened us on the upcoming events. However, we learned that the Zen center had recently been advertised on Chinese social media as a place offering free lunch. As a result, there was a surge in the number of Chinese visitors coming for free lunch. Under the judgmental gaze, as members of the Asian group present, we felt somewhat uneasy and embarrassed by the assumptions made. Before entering the dinning room, we had already placed a donation in the box to contribute our share. We were quiet, respectful and grateful. To avoid any future misunderstandings, may I humbly suggest that the host put up a sign near the kitchen requesting a $20 donation for lunch, and that the same statement be added to the website so visitors will prepare cash. As a community, we wish to extend our support to the Zen center while it could maintain an all-inclusive environment for visitors from diverse backgrounds without bias. We have taken the initiative to contact those who posted about Jikoji center on Chinese social media to edit the information to suggest a $20 donation instead of offering a free lunch. Let us join hands and work together to preserve the Zen center as an all-embracing and hospitable space for everyone.🙏🏼
