1st time trying Ju Hachi On New Years, and here's my Sacramento Downtown reality check. Ju Hachi is a spot where fresh shipments of fish come first, and you can Taste it immediately. Clean cuts, fresh, succulent and juicy - the Chefs choice sashimi of the day was ocean trout + hamachi + salmon. For the fitness folks that need high protein macro friendly eats, Ju Hachi is your spot. For service pacing, the holidays are times we're most businesses are understaffed and patience is truly needed with compassion to understand the service here stands out because they are focused on making sure we have a quality meal despite high volume customers in a small packed place. Ambiance, the aesthetics makes the place great for family , business meetings, or even bonding time for folks that want to escape work chaos. The music playing was the 90's and 2000s RNB so - best believe it was a vibe. Tip : sit at sushi bar if you can, order with intention, and build in a little grace and compassion because good food takes time, and so do the folks that make this place possible.
$46 for their Chef’s special 10 piece Nigiri. Absolutely DISGUSTING and we didn’t even finish it. Expected more out of this for $46 each tray, but they served the most basic of food here yet they want to overcharge as if they’re great. This is buffet quality food. Service was horrible. Sat us on a dirty table. Forgot our waters. And when we did get it, the cups were dirty at the rim. Forgot our plates and utensils. Barely checked on us.
I’ve been coming to Ju Hachi for years, and it never fails to impress. The fish is always fresh and top quality. My favorite spot is the bar when Sang is behind it. He’s not only attentive but also friendly and entertaining, making every visit feel special. Connor and Alan are fantastic as well, and the three of them together create such fun banter that the meal is both delicious and entertaining. Ju Hachi is always our go-to when we’re craving sushi, and I can’t recommend the chirashi enough!
Ju hachi is definitely under-rated! The quality of the fish is excellent, and their ramen is respectable. I believe the head sushi chef came from the original Kru, so you get the quality without the expensive price tag. The owner is a chill dude & comes out and chats every now and then. Top 4 for me personally in the sacramento area. * Don't leave without trying -Vanessa madness roll -Sashimi platter -Lomi shoyu Ramen -Tempura fried cheesecake - Hamachi Kama
As a vegetarian visiting Ju Hachi in Sacramento late at night around 9:30, the experience was just okay. Unfortunately, there weren't many options for vegetarians, which limited our choices. The vegetable udon was disappointing, it had a weird taste, the quantity was good though--honestly, we wish we hadn't ordered it. On the bright side, the green roll was a pleasant surprise! Even though we are not seaweed lovers, we really enjoyed it. The vegetable tempura roll was good as well, but the green roll was definitely the standout dish. The service was average. I initially received ice-filled water and requested room-temperature water instead, but it took a very long time to arrive. Overall, it was not the best dining experience. The vibes of the restaurant were just okay, nothing special. While some people at the bar seemed to enjoy drinks with the sushi preparer. If you're vegetarian, definitely skip the udon if you decide to go.
