Went there 12/2025. I tried the papa loca (baked potato) I will say it’s a big portion but had very little meat was mostly potato Also they say they add guacamole sauce but it only had drizzle of guac.. I’ve tried better like 13 min away in San Lorenzo even though smaller portion they add lots of meat and guacamole sauce and meat is thick and good. Tacos are really small compared to the spot I go to in San Lorenzo (12/23/25 it was closed) and again meat was lacking. They fit my three tacos in small container even though I asked for one taco to be separate (it’s ok but they didn’t follow directions) overall food flavor was a 2/5.
The food here never misses. Have gotten take out here 10+ times over the last 2 years. The burrito is always wrapped to perfection with a very generous portion of meat. The vampiros here are probably the best I have had anywhere. The line also moves much better than it did 2 years ago
Update: The location changed just down San Pablo now nestled between two buildings. The lines will be better controlled and there's more seating now. All my favorites were still on point, though, the chorizo had a strange nutty taste I didn't care for. Also, the agua de fresa tasted fake and too sweet. Still my favorite place. Original; All the cortes are delicious and full of flavor. My favorite thing to get is a mulita de cabeza con todo. With the handmade tortilla de maiz and cheese, I savored every bite. To my surprise the quesabirria was the best I've had in all of Oakland! They don't advertise it on the menu, though I noticed a tiny sign with a picture of the consumé near the order window, and I took a chance. A few drops of lime made it explode with flavor. Worth it! The al pastor tacos did not disappoint, as well as the asada. As other reviews mentioned, def don't skip out on the grilled onions and chiles. You ask for it while picking up the tacos; they are not at the salsa bar. The sidewalk is very cramped, but they manage to have one 'ordering' line and one 'pick up' line. With Bart just above you, and all the cars passing by, it gets LOUD. Please have patience and speak clearly. Lastly, there were several tip jars along the procession of ordering and picking up food. I left something in every jar. It's not clear how it's divided, but give it up to the people that will give you a dinner you'll be telling your friends and co-workers about.
Food is great!!! Lines are long. Wait is long. Workers are friendly but it takes a good while to get your food. You have to make 2 lines. First line, they write your order and take your money. Second line, you take a yellow copy of your order and after making that line you hand it in so they can finally start working on it. It took close yo an hour yo finally get our food. It was good!! 🌮 🌯
This taco place is a gem! This is coming from someone who eats delicious tacos from LA and OC. I really enjoyed it being on the side of the street and that didn’t stop them from making such delicious tacos. Beware, they’re pretty big! I was really hungry waiting in line so I ordered 4 but 2-3 is probably enough for one person. The buche was good and so was the Al pastor. Will come back again when I can!
