Went to see Brandon Maldonado (incredible artist) show. The space was open late, was well lit, and is a really great gallery space with lots of alcoves and variety of art. The person working the shop was very friendly and helpful. The space is also a quirky shop with a variety of candles, rugs, and other fun accouterments. We will definitely be back to check out other art shows.
Albuquerque has been long overdue for the hip vibe the Lapis Room brings to Old Town. No cheesy crap made in China here. Local artists with an edge, unique and beautiful jewelry, and handcrafted straight-from-the-heart wares. The owner and staff are young, smart, and friendly with an eye to the collectible and a devotion to keeping the 505 quirky and cool. All you locals get on down to the Lapis Room. It ain't your grandpa's Old Town anymore.

I had such a great time at this art gallery. The curators and staff were incredibly friendly and engaging, making the whole experience feel welcoming and interesting. They were genuinely excited to talk about the different pieces, offering insights into the artists and their work, which made it easy to get drawn into meaningful conversations. The variety of art styles was impressive. I especially liked that Grand theft auto video game style picture. Whether it was bold contemporary pieces or more traditional works, every corner had something unique to admire. It felt like a space where creativity was alive and constantly evolving. I've always wanted to walk through an art gallery with a glass of wine and soak in the atmosphere, feeling a little sophisticated in the process. If you're into art and good conversation, I highly recommend checking it out.
Possibly the best art gallery in town! Not just Old Town! I love the curated collections they choose to exhibit, and I've even bought one painting called "El Pescado" by Rachel Tapia recently. You could also buy different flavors of sparkling water, candles, soap, cards, and more! Run, don't walk, to visit a staple of Albuquerque! It's also connected to Noisy Water Winery. If you get wine, you can bring it into the gallery!
