As a first-year student, having a mentor to guide me through my college, essay, and scholarship journey has made everything so much easier. I’m grateful for Livius Prep and especially thankful to have found such an amazing mentor like Nikki!
Tutoring was completely ineffective. Tutors are too overwhelmed and go too fast. They don't provide homework when promised. No refunds provided. $1400 for 12 weeks is very pricey. I found a better tutor for $60 per session who goes at my pace. He's an engineer and went to an Ivy League school.
Working with Liviusprep was amazing! I got tutoring for one of my MTELs that I could not previously pass and I passed after a 12 week tutoring session with my tutor from Liviusprep!
Our first interaction with Livius was a consult with Kristi where we discussed my daughter’s goals in detail. At the time my daughter and I were auditioning a number of different SAT-prep services. We determined that the best first step was to take the Livius Comparison Test, a thorough diagnostic that helped us understand whether the SAT or the ACT would be a better fit. We established a convenient testing timeline and confirmed a schedule with a Livius tutor. Unfortunately this tutor was not a good fit…at all. But to their credit, and despite the fact that we had one foot out the door, the Livius team understood our concerns, and responded rigorously to provide other options and a new schedule. The result was transformational. The new tutor, Reza, did an amazing job with both strategy and tactics, helping my daughter understand where she needed to focus her macro and micro efforts to win back the points she had missed on previous tests. Reza’s expertise, as well as the consistent data and established curriculum that Livius provided were critical to that process. My daughter was able to increase her scores, helping make her a competitive applicant for the top-tier schools to which she planned to apply. My daughter had such a good experience with the Livius SAT prep, that she decided it might be good to also have another point of view on the entire college application process. Livius then matched her with Jodi, an extraordinary college counselor who was able to additionally help my daughter make the most of the more qualitative aspects of her college application. My daughter knew that great SAT scores weren’t enough, and Jodi was an instrumental resource and coach for helping her identify and further articulate accomplishments/interests/passions into a holistic application that was even more compelling. My daughter was grateful to be accepted to schools that were important to her, and most importantly to her top choices: Harvard and NYU. My daughter’s work with Livius was a very helpful component of all that she did to make compelling cases for her candidacy at the schools she was most interested in. Throughout the process, Kristi and Rebekah on the admin team were quick to respond to our questions, needs and concerns. The team was friendly and enthusiastic and genuinely invested in my daughter’s overall experience and success. They were genuinely interested in helping my daughter further curate and take fuller ownership of some of the life skills she deployed with the schools that she was passionate about. Livius is a great non-family resource and the team is best-in-class. I can’t recommend their services highly enough!
Livius has been a great resource for my daughter whose Is a senior. They have been friendly, caring and professional . They helped her improve her SAT score by 50 points after 1 month of tutoring. They have also helped her created a well structured college essay. The Tutors have been amazing!
