Nice croissant, good coffee, but No place for sitting. U grab and u go. We did dine in but standing up while eating our croissant. So yeah not a comfortable place for dining in. Nice interior but not a place for hanging out and spend time. It’s purely for selling u the croissants and grab your money 🤭 long q to buy during peak hour.
I’ve had Lune croissants many times in Melbourne and they were exceptional, but the South Bank one was disappointing. The texture and layers just don’t compare to Melbourne. For the price, it honestly feels like the QLD store is selling the name, not the quality.
This venue isn’t very suitable if you have POTS or blood-pressure conditions, as there are only two proper seating spots and the rest is outdoor seating, which isn’t ideal in Brisbane summers. There are no seats around the main island area either, so it’s not the most comfortable place to sit and enjoy your food. Two diners and the seats are taken. They also don’t offer syrups, and their iced chocolate is pre-mixed with sugar. I expected it to taste okay, but it was surprisingly bitter. The staff were friendly and the pastries looked beautiful, but people visit hospitality venues to sit down, relax, and enjoy their food—not to stand and eat. Unfortunately, the lack of comfortable seating really takes away from the experience. What concerned me most, though, was the hygiene. I saw pigeons walking into the kitchen/baking area, and staff didn’t seem bothered or in a hurry to move them out. There were also dead flies and bugs in the window seals around the seat bences, which made the space feel unclean and uncomfortable to sit at. There was an odd egg-like smell as well, which didn’t help the atmosphere. I understand they’re aiming for a unique concept, but the execution misses the mark. No proper seats, no syrups, no standard chocolate options—but what they do have were dead flies, an unpleasant smell, and birds in the food preparation area. Overall, it felt like a big miss for me.
First tried Lune in Melbourne. Been a fan ever since. Visited this outlet twice during our trip. Standouts were the ham and gruyure croissant as well as the sausage roll. Beautiful coffee and friendly service as well.
Heard lots of this name from friends in Brisbane, probably the best croissant in the world? I love the concept of the store design, bakeries present like jewellery, concrete industrial materials make the ambience a chic vibe. Really happy to enjoy my rainy morning here with lovely friends 💕
