Maxie B's made our 9" red velvet wedding cake along with several dozen cupcakes in classic vanilla, all American chocolate, and red velvet. The cake was gorgeous and larger than I expected -- three layers! It all tasted great and we received many questions from guests asking where we got the cake. Service was also very friendly during the ordering/pickup process.
I've been here several times and never done a review. After tasting the pumpkin bar yesterday I want another one already. It was delicious, the cream cheese frosting was amazing. The bakery is beautiful and as always the staff is the best. I'll be back soon for another pumpkin bar!!
I recently visited Maxie B’s for the first time in years. I decided to try their German chocolate cake. I was pleasantly surprised that it had the perfect amount of sweetness. I do not like overly sweet cakes like most the kinds sold at the store. This had a perfect texture and I loved the coconut custard filling. I’ve since visited Maxie B’s a few more times and tried a variety of their cakes. My #1 favorite is the Black Forest cake which they usually only have around winter time but I luckily was there on a day when they had made a whole one. Black Forest cake is my favorite cake of all time and they did it perfectly, using two types of cherries (sour and dark sweet) and a perfect filling and lovely whipped topping. I would get this every time if they had it year round! My other favorites so far are the key lime cake, the old fashioned chocolate cake, the chocolate mousse cake and the pineapple coconut. The German chocolate is probably my second favorite after the Black Forest. Every cake I’ve tried though has been excellent! I only wish their prices were a little better… $9 for a slice of German chocolate cake is a bit steep. Most of their cakes range between $7 - $8 a slice.But I know they use higher quality ingredients than most other places so I don’t mind treating myself occasionally.
Great spot for your sweets craving. Absolutely love the pumpkin chocolate chip cake! Also got the Chocolate Peanut Butter cake and it was great. Wonderful atmosphere if you want to hang around and eat in and if you want it to go order online for fast pick up. Always a great treat.
One of the nicest and most cozy places to grab a sweet treat to enjoy on a rainy day or any day period. Come for the food and atmosphere. It’s definitely unique and one of a kind. The outdoor seating is also pretty awesome! Can’t go wrong with indoor or outdoors here.
