I highly recommend the Beginners course as well as the Teacher training. Every class is dynamic, engaging and expertly delivered. I was a student of Matt’s meditation teacher training as well as the 6-week beginner course. Before starting, I was worried I wasn’t going to be wearing enough purple to fit into the group but to my pleasant surprise Matt’s no-frills teaching style meant the classes were inclusive of all experiences, backgrounds, and interests. What I’m trying to say is the courses were really enjoyable, the atmosphere is welcoming and friendly, and you won’t feel alienated for not knowing what palo santo is.
Matt’s Yarra Valley retreat is a welcoming place to reset from the busyness of modern life. He also creates an ideal environment in which to explore your own meditation practice. The simple accommodation and country surrounds were exactly what I needed to get back to basics and not have to impress anyone. Meals were delicious and nourishing. Matt’s teachings were wise and enlightening. The four days ended too soon. Thank you Matt.
I did the beginner mindfulness course and a cultivating self compassion course. Gained useful knowledge and skills from both. Learning meditation can be a bit intimidating but Matt is a pro at building up the intensity from week to week. He is very experienced and knowledgeable about teaching meditation and takes a lot of the mainstream BS away by being practical and genuine. I found the skills I learned very useful for being a social worker encountering crisis and trauma in my job. So grateful! 😀🌷✌
