If you're looking for an awesome atmosphere to celebrate a big milestone, this is it. Celebrated my wife’s birthday here recently and was blown away by the decor and the skyline views. The food was solid and well-prepared. It’s a high-energy, beautiful space that made her birthday feel very high-end. A must-visit for the scenery alone!"
Monarch was a great place. We went in here several times a year. If you go here first time, I would suggest to try their pastas. You can't go wrong with any of those. Even a regular spaghetti with red sauce tasted yummy! Their pasta is handmade and made fresh. Steaks were good too. But I would say their A5 doesn't taste like one. The other places (Japanese high end restos) that served A5, their steaks would melt in my mouth. Monarch's didn't quiet do it. It almost taste like a high end steak but not quiet a Japanese A5. Probably the reason I gave them the 4⭐️ instead of 5. But - they make it up with impeccable Tiramisu that they would mix in front of you. That was a good desert. Overall, still a good place to go for special occasions and have a nice dinner ✨
Beautiful restaurant. But, the food flavoring needs work. My friend got some very bland chicken, and I received some pasta that said it was short rib, but I’m sure this is just ground beef. The mocktails were good. The service was okay. The food took forever to come out and we nearly missed our show after and we showed up in plenty of time. Overall the experience was pretty blah. I was so excited to try this restaurant. It’s been on my bucket list for a while and the experience was disappointing. Suggestions: Get rid of that basil thing with the sauce that is brought out, and replace it with that focaccia bread with the tomato sauce you have. That was excellent and really should be the focus of your starters. Get rid of those middle tables by the servers stations. Too much traffic, we had to ask to be moved.
We came here to celebrate a friend’s birthday and had high expectations given the restaurant’s upscale reputation — unfortunately, the food didn’t quite live up to it. We started our evening near the bar for happy hour to enjoy the full experience. The beef tartare was fresh but underwhelming compared to others I’ve had around the city. The drinks, however, were spot on. Once we moved to our reserved window table — which had a lovely view and elegant ambiance — we were welcomed with a large celebration card featuring my friend’s name. That was a really nice touch. We began with focaccia bread and meatballs; the bread was decent, but the meatballs were far too salty. We did, however, expect a complimentary welcome glass of champagne (something we’d seen mentioned in several reviews), but that never happened. Our server didn’t add much to the experience and made us feel a bit rushed throughout the meal. For mains, we had the veal Parm, which was thin and pretty basic, though the side of mushrooms was delicious. The shrimp were tasty but nothing memorable, and the Caesar salad was heavy-handed with the dressing. The highlights of the night were the New Zealand white wine we chose, the gorgeous view, and the tiramisu we shared at the end. Despite the uneven service and average food, we made the best of it and enjoyed each other’s company. Sadly, it’s not a place I’d return to.
We had a wonderful experience! We celebrated a birthday and all did the Chef’s tasting menu. We enjoyed almost everything, we thought the fish entree was sub par but the Waygu filet was phenomenal and I didn’t want to stop eating. The cocktails were phenomenal and we enjoyed our server. Overall the meal took about 3 hours which we didn’t realize how much time had passed until it was dark and we were all ready to head back to our hotel. It was a little confusing to get to as we aren’t from the area and didn’t see much signage. Thankfully someone who knew where they were going was in the elevator with us.
