My brother and I just ate here for the first time. It should have five stars overall, but there are a couple of things holding it back that make it about 4.5ish. First off, we were greeted very cheerfully by Mariha, who I later found out was the manager. She was smiling and polite and professional and was quite lovely. What a great first impression! Our server, Cay, was also very chirpy and friendly; she seemed to have everything in hand with all the tables she was taking care of and still had some time to chat about key lime pie :). The food was where there was room for improvement. My brother loved his Denver omelette and salad, and commented that the salad had the correct amount of salad dressing - not too much nor too little. The eggs Benedict were quite good, although I'm not sure that was Bearnaise sauce. Nevertheless, the dish was rich, delicious as eggs Benedict is meant to be. The letdown was the bacon. It was not thick cut as advertised so a little bit disappointing. But still, first world problems - it is bacon. One other thing is the 5% charge for operating costs - it's on the menu. It goes entirely to the restaurant owners and I would imagine is to keep menu prices down(?). Still.... Overall, an enjoyable experience - coffee deserves a mention as well. The decor, location within the Hoxton Hotel, Mariha and Cay (who are the stars of the experience) will have me coming back at the next opportunity. 'You're basically regulars now!' - Mariha. Well, we were made to feel that way.
Moonlark’s Dinette instantly became one of my favorite spots in the city. The food here is incredible — every single dish was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. I tried several plates and honestly, each one surprised me in the best way. The ingredients taste super fresh, the flavors are bold without being overwhelming, and the presentation is beautiful. From the perfectly fried eggs to the stacked sandwiches and the chilaquiles, everything was memorable. The service was just as impressive — friendly, attentive, and fast, which made the whole experience even better. If you’re looking for a place that nails both quality and flavor, Moonlark’s Dinette is a must. I’d come back in a heartbeat.
I stopped by this restaurant recently and was really impressed. The restaurant itself is absolutely gorgeous! It's stylish, clean, and so well put together. The food and drinks are a little on the pricey side, but everything I had was great, and the atmosphere made it worth it. After my meal, they even gave me a postcard with my check!!
This Cobb Salad is heavenly and as big as your head! And throw in a homemade biscuit! Make sure to get a side of homemade jam on the side too. It is a MUST! This place is popping on the weekends and for good reason. The feel of a diner but not greasy and definitely elevated.
Walked to this restaurant and wait times were about 30 minutes to be seated. My sister likened the feel of the restaurant to that of “Morning Glory” in San Diego’s Little Italy minus the acid trip walls. Ended up ordering the Denver Omelette, it wasn’t anything special, but the salad was good. The salad had a bit of a sweet taste to it. However, the chilaquiles verde and the daybreak burger that my wife and sister ordered were very yummy. I recommend getting either of those dishes over the omelette. Chilaquiles had good texture and were not soggy. The daybreak burger was savory with every bite and wish I had gone with that and not the Denver omelette. If you want to enjoy their biscuits get there as soon as possible, because they do run out. Ordered two cappuccinos, they had a solid balanced flavor but nothing to write home about. Server was K, and as other reviews have pointed out she was very attentive and kind.
