As a complete beginner to piano I've very much enjoyed the early lessons with Ben each one building on the previous one. I appreciate there is a long way to go but so far I've very much appreciated Ben's lesson pace, his encouragement and patience.
When I retired I started playing my piano again but was really getting no better. A year ago I contacted Morningside School of Music and started piano lessons with Ben. He is patient and encouraging but above all he is a brilliant pianist and such an inspiration. I look forward to my lessons and feel I am making the most of my retirement, having time to practice and do something I have always wanted to do. Thank you Ben!!
I decided to learn to play piano after I retired and searched for teachers. I came across Morningside Music School and found them encouraging and supportive of older learners. The lessons by my teacher Ben Shanks are challenging but enjoyable (even the homework!).
David Smith is an excellent music teacher. My daughter enjoys a lot her guitar lessons. David is very organised with unique teaching skills. He sends emails with feedback after every guitar lesson and advices how to improve. We are very grateful to David and very happy our daughter has such an amazing guitar experience.
I've been taking guitar lessons with David Smith at the Morningside School of music for the last couple of months, as largely a complete beginner. The school has a great teaching set-up, and have been extremely helpful accommodating availability around my own working schedule, allowing me to fit in lessons later on in the evening after work. David in particular has been great - he's very patient and supportive, but also provides sufficient challenge through our lessons and teaching content to try and accelerate my learning and keep things interesting and interactive. Around the theory elements in particular he's been able to help teach some of the fundamental concepts in a way that's easy to understand. He's also gone above and beyond and met me out with his own teaching hours to help with maintaining and restringing my guitar. I'd highly recommend both the Morningside school and David.
