Skyler is the best! His cuts are great and the way they grow out lasts for a while. He takes his time to work with you and find a style you can realistically manage. He's a total sweetheart, highly recommend him!
This review has been a long time coming. I moved to LA when COVID hit, and once businesses began reopening, I started searching for a new salon and stylist. That’s when I came across the amazing reviews for The Hair Parlor on 8th Street. I’ve been coming here regularly for haircuts and styling since 2023. The staff and stylists are friendly, attentive, and always on top of your needs. The salon itself is truly beautiful and impeccably clean. Most importantly, my stylist, Sofie Davies, is incredible. She really listens to my concerns and goals and has never disappointed me. Since COVID, I’ve lost a significant amount of hair, and it has become very thin, so I previously relied on extensions for volume and length. I understand that with fine hair, there are limitations—especially with layered styles—but where other stylists have shut me down or pushed their own ideas, Sofie truly listens and works her magic with what she has. Since seeing Sofie, I’ve completely stopped using extensions because my hair now looks full and has so much volume—exactly what I want. You can see the photo of how I style it below. If you’re feeling hopeless about your hair, try The Hair Parlor. I always leave feeling confident, sexy, and amazing.
I booked with Skyler at Hair Parlor on 8th looking for something fresh, but still very me—I have fine, straight hair and a low-maintenance routine, so I needed a cut that wouldn't require a ton of styling or upkeep. Skyler absolutely delivered! He really listened to what I wanted (yes to movement, no to losing my ponytail length!) and gave me a subtle A-line shape with soft layers that made a big difference without feeling high-maintenance. The cut feels light, flattering, and easy—exactly what I needed. I appreciated how thoughtful and relaxed the whole experience was. Skyler’s clearly skilled at working with different textures and making realistic, respectful suggestions that still feel stylish. If you’re someone who wants a cut that works with your lifestyle and not against it, Skyler’s your person. I walked out feeling refreshed, confident, and still 100% myself—just better.

Tricia is an amazing hairstylist in Los Angeles. She's a great listener and has helped shaped my look to fit my style! I’ve been a client of Tricia's for years & confidently can say she’s one of the best.. As a male client with curly, long hair and faded mullet, she truly understands how to manage thick hair, using both scissor/clippers.
