This studio is an outstanding place to dance and grow. The classes are consistently high quality, the environment feels welcoming, and there’s a real sense of professionalism that sets it apart. The owner brings such joyful and passionate energy, always choosing creative music and fostering a supportive community. I also really appreciate the videography offered to students, which is a great tool for self-improvement and understanding how we move on camera. In one class, a teacher imitated the way I was moving (a bit more masculine) and said, “this isn’t sexy. It’s good for hip hop, but it’s not sexy, so you always want to move like this,” then adjusted her posture to pop her chest out. I understood the intention was to encourage cleaner, elongated lines, but the comment landed in a way that didn’t feel very inclusive. For a studio that promotes itself as LGBTQ+ friendly and body-positive, phrasing feedback with a bit more care could make a big difference in supporting that mission. A little extra teacher training around language and tone might help ensure everyone feels fully welcome. Honestly, if that had been my first class, I probably wouldn’t have come back; but thankfully, all my other experiences here have been overwhelmingly positive. The professionalism, community, and care this studio offers make it a standout in the area. I’m grateful to be part of it and will definitely keep showing up to dance.
So thankful to have found this studio and community. Nothing but encouragement and acceptance. So incredibly thankful for Brayden's Jazz Funk class at 5:30 on Fridays. The energy and attitude he brings are UNMATCHED. He is such a sweet soul and makes everyone feel welcome. He is truly rooting for your growth!!!
Janelle’s heated flexibility classes for dancers are the antidote I need for my desk job. I always leave feeling like a million bucks. Her flexibility classes are great whether you are a dancer or just want to get more mobile in general. Highly recommend
I have been dancing for over 20 years and Janelle’s choreography is one of my favorites! Her unique style and her authenticity shines and makes each class fun. The Play Hard community is supportive, welcoming, and kind and I am so thankful to have found PHH.
This company is unmatched! It’s unique and gives aspiring dancers an incredible foundation for any dreams. There’s performances, photo shoots, gigs, team bondings, and a great community. Every dancer is incredibly welcoming and makes you feel at home. The support and encouragement makes you be able to push yourself and try out new things! I’m so grateful I can be apart of an amazing team!
