Situated in the heart of Jersey City’s business district, this restaurant offers a sophisticated, understated atmosphere that serves as a perfect escape from the surrounding hustle and bustle. The decor creates a refined backdrop for their impressive wine list, which features some truly excellent pairings for their menu. After a long search for quality risotto in the area, I was finally impressed by their version; it was prepared with technical precision—creamy, rich, and perfectly seasoned. However, it is worth noting that while the flavors are undeniably excellent, the plating leans toward a more boutique, fine-dining style. The portions aren't particularly large or intended for family-style sharing, so if you are coming in with a hearty appetite, I would definitely suggest ordering your own individual appetizer and entree to fully enjoy the experience.
An unforgettable Italian dining experience. The food was beyond amazing — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere felt elegant yet cozy. Every detail, from the cocktails to the food, was perfect. Can’t wait to come back!
Beautiful atmosphere. Very clean. Food was great, drinks were amazing. Goat fell off the bone, calamari was the right size and crispiness. My pasta was a bit salty but still good. And the meatballs were amazing, mussels came in an amazing sauce.
We visited Porto Leggero on a Sunday and found the place to be quiet, which was perfectly fine with us — it made for a relaxing dining experience. We started with the calamari, which was perfectly cooked — light, tender, and flavorful. For our entrées, I had the salmon and my wife went with the halibut. Both dishes were excellent — fresh, well-seasoned, and beautifully presented. The service was also great — very attentive without being intrusive, and everything moved at a comfortable pace. Overall, a wonderful experience and we’d definitely come back again.
I found the service a little slow but the food was up to the mark and not too pricey. Nice and airy, good ambience. I would recommend the lamb shank and the stuffed mushrooms.
