This was the gym I needed at this point in my life. Sixty"s here and I had all but decided I was unable to hold myself accountable for my own physical health enough to make it a priority. And even IF I somehow DID start working out, I wouldn't know what I should do or for how long; and in all likelihood would ultimately give up, yet again. A few months ago, I found Preston Strength. Steve and Lesley have provided a program that takes the guess work out of getting into shape and maintaining it.. All I needed to do is show up and give it my best effort. I'm on my third month on a 3 day-a-week workout routine. I have begun to just consider it a mandatory appointment. Now I can stop anguishing over knowing full-well I "should" work out but also "knowing" that it would probably never happen because historically, that's always been the case. Which was just a depressing realization. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have found Preston Strength. So far, so good. Feeling committed!
A fantastic strength training gym! I highly recommend to anyone, especially over 40, looking to get stronger in a safe and efficient way. For the first time EVER I actually look forward to early morning workouts. A great community of friendly faces, especially Lucy, the gym dog!
Steve is one of the best in Hampton roads. He establishes a detailed plan to fit into your daily regimen. If you have any nagging past injuries or flare ups, he adjusts it quickly and efficiently. It’s not just strength, but quickness, flexibility, and confidence. Not only does he push you to accomplish the necessary goals, he always lends an ear to listen if you have anything going on outside of the gym. Every time slot seems to create a tight bond with each other and offers a pleasant atmosphere. Thanks Steve for all you do in the community!
I have been working out here since 2020 and I never want to go anywhere else. Steve does a really good job at personalizing workouts that are suited for you and help you achieve the goals you have for yourself. It’s such a positive and great atmosphere to workout in. There is never any negative energy in the facility when I walk through the doors. If you are on the fence about working out with Steve, I am telling you just go for it. You’re going to have fun, feel great, and meet the best people in area to workout with that have similar goals you do.
Preston Strength is not only a great place to get a workout in but is an atmosphere where people build you up and motivate you to be the best version of yourself! Steve creates individualized plans and holds you accountable. My entire family attends and we enjoy the friendly competition! Preston not only helped the kids with sports training but helped them build confidence in themselves.
