On a super cold night, this place was very cozy and warm. The food was delicious. We were party of 6, and everything we ordered was amazing. From the apps we had the pickle medley, deer tartar, salmon tartar, smoked trout, and everyone kicked it with the French Onion soup. Yummy!!! I loved the smoked trout appetizer so much that I had the trout salad for my main. The combination of the smoked trout and the goat cheese with greens was so so so good. Be sure to make a reservation.
From the moment I walked in, I knew there was something truly special about this spot and it did not disappoint. The interior alone left me speechless: incredibly creative décor with antlers and skis hanging from the ceiling, and even a bathtub sink in the restroom that made the whole experience feel fun and unforgettable. The customer service was just as impressive; warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly from start to finish. The food was excellent, perfectly prepared, and clearly made with care. And as if it couldn’t get any better, the coffee was free, which was such a nice and unexpected touch. This place is definitely popular, so be prepared for a long line if you don’t snag a reservation but it’s absolutely worth the wait. An unforgettable breakfast experience that I can’t recommend enough!
We were lucky enough to get a table on Christmas morning for brunch at 9.00am. Our waiter Xavier was friendly and very attentive to our needs and our endless Mimosas!! First one was $12 but $2 each after that! We had the Trout Crepes and who knew Waffles, Fried Chicken, Spicy Caramel Sauce and Blueberries could taste so good! Food, service and atmosphere was perfect. So happy we got to experience this well sought after restaurant. Would recommend this to anyone visiting Quebec City 😊
Quite a cozy restaurant that doubles as a labyrinth. The food was good but probably not suitable for our Asian taste buds, nonetheless the Pate Chinois and the Cerf Tartare was great. However, the Meat Nuggets on the kids menu seems like just an afterthought. Two over deep friend ground meat ball with fries and bitter salad. My kid didn't touch it although shes obsessed with fries. Otherwise service and atmosphere (decor) was great. A lil zoo inside the restaurant
Nice Quebecois restaurant in the heart of the upper old town area of Quebec City. The decor is… different. It’s kitschy, fun and the staff are kind - there are antler chandeliers, stuffed animals on the walls, chairs strapped to the ceiling and even a full Fiat 500 found in the restaurant. As far as the food goes, it’s a little pricey, but the portion sizes are generous. You can also try dishes unique to the area like the Quebec version of Shepherd’s pie alongside Canadian classics like the poutine. It’s good, hearty fare, but there’s still something lacking. I might be a critic of the overall cuisine, but find its taste kind of bland at times. It’s almost like Midwest or southern cuisine in America in terms of this type of blandness. It’s tasty, fills you up and is warm, but won’t be the best meal of your life (or perhaps even that week). Yet, I’d definitely recommend it to friends and family in the area and plan to go back myself. A note on booking, in December the restaurant was packed at 6:30pm, while tables started to become available around 7:30 throughout the restaurant.
