Overall not the best experience. At first Joe was very friendly, attentive and professional but after communicating with him extensively regarding my situation, I listed my home at a price I really needed as the bottom number, which was advised as a competitive price in this market and my specific area. The first two weeks were great, I had many showings. After my first and only low ball offer, it became very clear to me that he wasn’t working in my favour. I ended up terminating my listing during the offer negotiation just to get out of the situation. I also paid one thousand dollars , plus HST to terminate my listing as part of the listing agreement to cover the brokerage expenses. Agents viewing my home were not screened, and after a no show, I had to reach out to Joe to find out why, waiting a day for a response. You also don’t have the option to decline showings yourself. It seemed that every time I communicated I was unhappy he came up with a new response. I felt like he was not really on my side thoughout the negotiations, asking me to counter offer, no where close to my fair asking price and with no advice or a clear set goal. After termination I reached out to Joe asking specific questions about my pictures and the holdover period, which he never replied. I also experienced limitations where I can buy my next home, being no more than an hour away, in order to benefit from the commission . When I considered leasing my home as an option I was shut down saying it’s not worth his time. On a positive note, his pictures and video were very good. I really hope sellers are aware of these issues and make an informed decision whether Joe or his brokerage is the right fit .
Joe is a fantastic agent. We had a very positive experience. He was professional, calm , knowledgeable and upfront. We couldn't have asked for a better person to take care of our real-estate needs . Highly recommend Rinehart Realty. We also saved thousands of dollars.
