Huge store with very helpful staff. My wife and I had a size range for our dining table. We worked with Joy who was very helpful and gave us his thoughts based on his own experience. Big shoutout to Joy for great customer experience!
I spent roughly 3 hours here today and could not have felt more welcome. Right from the beginning Amanda was so thorough, helpful, and knowledgeable. Each floor had amazing employees who truly seemed to like their job. I was able to go back and forth through the whole building trying out each variation of the furniture and finally settled on my new couch! They got a new customer for life, and it seems like they really stand by their products.
We love everything about this store! We were lucky to have the incredible showroom in D.C. available to us. Working with Connie at Room & Board helped us plan the interior furniture space. When our house was finally ready, the delivery arrived. They have a flat delivery fee of $119. The two guys who delivered the furniture took great care of our home by taking off their shoes. They set up all the pieces and added felt pads to the chairs. They were very well versed with the product pieces and delivery. The only disappointment was the two square ottomans we ordered in black and white cowhide were primarily black. Our delivery person relayed the concern to the company, and they are sending four more ottomans and allowing us to choose the two we want. No hassle! We love Room & Board for quality timeless furniture and excellent service!!
To start, I have a strong bias for Room & Board. I’ve been a customer for almost 20 years and most of my home is furnished with their products. So I write this for the average shopper and the R&B diehards out there. This store doesn’t disappoint. Shopping this store is as much about the experience that the location offers as it is about finding that perfect piece for your home. The use of the sheer scale of the space allows them to give you a “true to home” feel for how their furniture or accessories will show and feel in your home. They artfully edit and merchandise each space as a room within a room. If you’re a Room & Board loyalist you know what you’re getting; high quality, long lasting, contemporary style (albeit at a price). If you’re new to R&B, they won’t dissapoint you. You can shop their products online but I highly recommend you get to this site for the sheer experience.
As this Room and Board was in downtown DC, I did not exist the store to be so large. It occupies all 3 floors of the corner building it occupies and there are many pieces of furniture, rugs, accessories, lamps, etc. I really like the mid- century modern/ contemporary furniture and the textiles (pillows, rugs, linens) are terrific. If you're in the market for this style of furniture or home goods, this is a great stop to make.
