Had the delux high tea here. The punch (drink) replacement for the sparkling wine was really nice and so was the coffee and tea. Fantastic service and everything you expect from a high tea. Will definitely be back. Looking around the food looked like they were decent portions and very well presented
I had a very disappointing experience at Room with Roses. A friend and I went for lunch and ordered from the Christmas Celebration Menu. We had the French Onion Soup and the Roast Turkey. The soup was served hot and was quite good. Unfortunately, everything went downhill after that. After finishing our soup, we waited almost two hours for our main course. The table next to us left before their food arrived because of the long delay. When the Roast Turkey was finally served, I saw a small fly coming from the salad, which was extremely unpleasant. The roast turkey itself also tasted awful and was not enjoyable at all. At $55 per person, you would expect good food and reasonable service. Sadly, this was not the case. I would not recommend this restaurant and will not be returning.
My son and I enjoyed an impromptu high tea lunch at Room With Roses. It was a beautiful experience to share together. The venue is lovely, on the top floor of the Brisbane arcade. It’s very traditional with the lovely linen and fine bone china. The ribbon sandwiches were very fresh, and delicious. The scones were lovely with plenty of jam and cream. However the hot pastries were lacking in flavour and interest… and honestly looked and tasted like they’d come from a frozen pack at Coles. The small sweets didn’t taste particularly fresh or wow either, and were quite firm and cold in texture…. not soft,light and cakey as you’d expect. The high tea was $57 per head which felt absolutely overpriced for the items on the 3 tiered stand we received. ($114 in total). This consisted of, per person: 1 sandwich (2 halves ribbon sandwich)… 2 small scones…. 3 tiny hot pastries… and 3 tiny cake items. And I mean tiny! Along with a tea or coffee. If I were to dine here again I would skip the high tea and order items individually off the menu. You would get sooo much more food for the same price and a much better selection of items. Did we have a lovely experience? We absolutely did. And my son especially enjoyed it, which is what really made the experience great. But I felt jaded at how overpriced the experience was for what we got, and that was disappointing.
Outstanding service and very caring friendly staff. I think Ernest gave us this service and his colleague I forgot her name. We came from New Zealand, just on a transfer flight and I work in iconic Queens Arcade, NZ and we came to experience Brisbane. We loved Room with Roses 🌹. We didn't plant to dine but because of the service we couldn't resist
Located at Brisbane Arcade, Gallery Level, 117 Adelaide Street, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia 🇦🇺 This is an amazing place and the food is always amazing. The food served is delicious. I have been there several times now and have had a number of meals including the High Tea. Very nice indeed. A great selection of sweet and savoury. The prices are quite high but I expect that of an establishment of this kind. The place brings back wonderful memories of coming here with my mother before she passed away. She used to absolutely love it and we couldn’t come to Brisbane without coming here. I highly suggest you make a booking because in likelihood you won’t get a table if you just turn up. It’s extremely popular both with locals and tourists. The atmosphere is very elegant and relaxing . We are always made to feel welcome when we arrive. The staff are very friendly and polite. Always willing to help in any way. It’s designed so well, I love the different types of furniture. I would definitely recommend. Thumbs up!!! 👍👍👍
