I started seeing Matt after tearing my ACL last winter while skiing. I originally chose him because of his great reviews and because the gym that he works out of is so close to my apartment, and I’m so glad I did. Before my surgery, he gave me incredibly helpful prehab exercises that made a noticeable difference in how quickly I recovered after surgery. After surgery, he made an effort to understand my lifestyle, creating a routine that was practical, manageable, and easy to stay consistent with on my own time. All sessions are 1-on-1, so you get his full attention every visit. Matt really knows the science behind what he’s doing and always takes the time to explain the “why” behind each movement or why my body could be feeling what it is feeling, which I really appreciate. I’m now 8 months post-op, and I genuinely couldn’t be where I am without his guidance and support. I highly recommend Matt to any athlete looking for a knowledgeable, supportive, and results-driven physical therapist.
I came to see Matt for a chronic foot injury that had been significantly limiting my distance running for years. In our 6 sessions together, Matt got me back to consistently running 15-20 miles a week, and gave me the tools and understanding to continue building my mileage higher. The gait analysis session at the track was particularly helpful in allowing me to see the root cause of my injury, and it served as useful motivation for the exercises in the gym. I appreciate that he takes the time to explain the “why” behind the exercises he prescribes; you can tell that he’s creating a personalized recovery plan for your specific needs. I feel much more confident in my return to distance running after working with Matt. If an injury has been holding you back athletically or functionally, whether for a few weeks or a few years, I’d highly recommend going to see Matt!

I came to Matt about two months ago when I was facing a running injury as I was training for an upcoming marathon. As a 30 year-old guy, I had been telling myself that I didn't need physical therapy and could treat my injury myself. However, within just one session, I knew that I made the right choice by coming to Matt because of his thoughtful and intentional approach. From mobility exercises to strength training to running assessments, Matt's attention to detail made it possible for me to make progress with my injury while I continued to train for my marathon. He thoughtfully re-worked my marathon training plan to ensure that I could continue to run the mileage needed for training without aggravating my injury. Because of him, I was not only able to significantly reduce the pain I was dealing with before my marathon, but also beat my goals that I had set out for myself pre-injury!
