We take all 4 of our pups to Dr. McCoy. They are all vastly different breeds with different needs and they all have gotten the best care at SRAH. Dr. McCoy is so knowledgeable, has great bed side manners instantly putting the pups at ease, is able to make things easy to understand for the human involved, and is transparent about cost and what the dog may need as well as options. I never feel pushed into anything and always leave with knowledge and feeling great about the decision. If any of the pups have an issue or are sick he always follows up and ensures they are doing great.
I am truly grateful that I’ve stumbled across a vet for my pup, Sophie, a veterinary clinic that makes your experience feel so personalized and intimate. It was so nice to witness my pup really enjoy her initial visit with Dr. McCoy - he is so fun and light hearted! I appreciate how transparent and sincere the entire process went from the very beginning of booking the appointment to walking me through an effective long-term plan of care to the warm greetings and hospitality setup, upon arrival, was so comforting.
If I could give zero stars, I would. I strongly advise against bringing your dog to this clinic if you lack basic knowledge about puppies, like I did. After purchasing my puppy in Mexico, I realized the seller misrepresented her age & health condition, which raised my concerns. I made an appointment for the very next day due to a gut feeling that something was wrong with her. On Monday, I took her to the clinic, and by Wednesday morning at 7:30 AM, I received alarming news from the vet. The doctor informed me that my puppy had four different types of parasites, some of which are transferable to humans. I was told to expect a call to pick up her medication soon. However, after contacting the clinic six times and facing annoyance each time, I was finally told at 4:30 PM that the medications would be ready in 30 minutes. But not right away. I informed the vet that I have to go out of town for work and will not return until Friday. The staff member, Riley, was extremely rude and stated they were unable to assist because their system was down, I then reminded Riley of Mia’s condition and said there must be a backup plan in place, Riley said, “ No, there is nothing we can do about it “ I insisted on a solution, she simply placed me on hold for about 10 minutes, Riley then came back to the phone, to update me that the medication would be ready in 30 minutes, then abruptly hung up. I was shocked by the lack of compassion, especially given the situation with my puppy's health. To me, basic empathy is essential, especially in this line of work. I was relieved to pick up Mia's medication by 5 PM, but the receptionist was also unhelpful, providing no guidance on how to administer the medicine or warning signs to watch for that could indicate urgent care was needed. Sadly, my puppy passed away by Sunday morning. To this day, I haven't received any follow-up from the clinic to check on her condition. It's disheartening that a place prioritizes profit over genuine care. The excuse I received about not being able to pick up Mia's medication, due to not being able to charge me because their system was down, felt like they lack empathy. I had to advocate for Mia, insisting that I wouldn't accept that as an answer. With so many veterinary options in the Scottsdale area, I recommend staying far away from this clinic. I took my puppy to another clinic nearby, but unfortunately, it was too late. Even then, they demonstrated empathy and compassion, doing everything they could to help, but her little immune system was overwhelmed by the parasites. My Sweet Mia, though our interaction was extremely brief the essence will live in my & my daughter heart forever
Great knowledge and care for our Cocker Spaniël Rocky. Friendly staff. Love how they have the separate waiting area. He recently had a tumor removal and the vet followed up. Also with other procedures - call you and give you status update. Clean and welcoming.
Thank you Dr. NICK and staff. I have a 3 month old puppy that I just adopted 2 days ago. She is very lethargic and not eating along with other symptoms I won't get into. They made me a very last minute appointment to see my baby girl. We didn't necessarily get the best news. I am still grateful for how quickly I was seen, no questions asked. My baby turns out to be pretty sick, the staff took necessary precautions and kept everything very clean. Dr. Nick went above and beyond to show me how to administer some treatment I can do at home with her. So far she is doing OK. It's been a tough couple days. I will be returning to your office with my other fur babies. You took care of us, in a time where we really needed some light at the end of the tunnel. I can't find the words to describe how amazing you all are. If you want a doctor and staff with positive energy, helpful staff who really show they care. And love their jobs, Especially in hard situations. Please go see Dr. nick. Thanks again to you and your staff for taking care of us and keeping my baby girl here with us for as long as possible.
