Erik Kramer of Social Studio is skilled, talented, resourceful, and communicative. He has my deepest respect as a professional and my enthusiastic endorsement. Approaching my project, I knew a little about a lot of things, a lot about a few things, and nothing – zilch – about design/build. Erik wasn't fazed. He met me where I was, deftly coaxing from me a vision I'd yet to articulate, and patiently proving me the language with which to do so. The process was a joy and the spectacular results speak for themselves. From grand design to minute finishing details, Erik's tasteful selections were always in keeping with my concept (and, for that matter, my budget), each incrementally advancing and enhancing the outcome. Throughout, he consistently overdelivered with quality of design, solutions, workmanship, management, and adherence to timeline and budget. My first meeting with Erik Kramer and Social Studio was surprising. While I loved his enthusiasm and creativity, my husband and I weren’t sure he was the right architect for our vision. He convinced us that my cutesy Craftsman house was not going to fit in with a western ranch neighborhood and that he could blend Craftsman style with a more subtle ranch design. We went with it, and it was the best decision we have ever made. Throughout the design phase, Erik always listened to what we wanted and added his own ideas of balancing contemporary trends with timeless elegance. He has a keen eye for aesthetics to create a home that is both stylish and functional. Throughout the building process, whenever we weren’t sure about a specific design, Erik would represent his ideas visually so we could get a clear picture of what it would look like. He worked closely with our contractor to make sure every detail was executed. His knowledge of the building process is impressive, and he could think outside the box to present an alternative idea whenever the contractor came across a difficult building task. One of the standout features of Erik’s design was his attention to cabinetry detail. The beauty and intricate nature of the custom cabinet design is the highlight of our home. Erik was able to create cabinetry that was functional and beautiful while integrating my desire for maximum storage. An important quality of any architect is the ability to navigate the different personalities in the design and building process. Erik was able to do this with sensitivity and aplomb. He could talk a gorilla out of his banana and convince him that bamboo shoots are the better choice. Working with Erik and Social Studio was a delight. We highly recommend him for anyone looking to elevate their space with thoughtful and elegant design solutions.
Working with Eric on my bathroom renovation was both a breeze and a blast! He is very professional and listens to my needs and wants. I was floored when I saw the different bathroom renderings that he presented — they were all so beautiful and well-thought out. He made sure that I was happy and content with the option I chose and was very collaborative when I wanted to change a few tidbits. His attention to detail is impeccable and he has a really good eye with design as he mixed modern with organic elements that keeps my guests intrigued everytime they used the bathroom. When there were concerns during construction, he was not only quick to respond, but he was also very respectful, kind, and considerate — all good traits that any homeowner needs in a designer who will help them create the home of their dreams. It is without a doubt that if you choose to work with Eric in your future home redesign/renovation, you will be met with excellence in design and unbeatable professionalism.
Working with Erik/Social Studio has been a famtastic experience. Erik’s designs are unique, playful and contemporary. I knew I wanted to work with him because of his attention to detail and his signature style and taste that I trust. His renderings were essential in helping me make decisions. He worked hard to get them right and we would iterate on them time and time again until I was confident about the choice. I trusted his judgement and he always made things right if there was ever an error. He went above and beyond in his creativity to help me find cheaper solutions without compromising on design and aesthetic. Erik was able to turn a tiny sitting room into a luxurious bathroom and I couldn’t be happier. The curved vanity was a genius design choice to create more space while having a unique and contemporary aesthetic. The craftsman he worked with to create the cabinetry did an incredible job. Every sub contractor that was brought in was professional, kind and did great work. I am beyond satisfied with the space and my experience working with Erik. Couldn’t recommend more!
