SoWa Art + Design District, en el vecindario SoWa de Boston, en 450 Harrison Ave, ofrece una mezcla vibrante de galerías de arte, estudios y tiendas. Los visitantes pueden conocer a los artistas, recorrer tres pisos de obras y comprar piezas directamente a los creadores. El SoWa Open Market los domingos (de mayo a octubre) añade un bullicioso mercado al aire libre con pinturas, esculturas, joyería, textiles y más.

Went on a Sunday and also took a look at the artists studios. Absolutely amazing and loved it! You can buy artists work directly from them and meet the artists as well! There is also a vintage market! Such a wonderful hub for artists!
This is a MUST to visit in Boston! The SoWa Open Market is one of the largest open-air farmer and artist markets in Boston. With a variety of regional and local vendors, plus food + beverage trucks, nestled among artist studios, galleries, and retail shops on the pedestrian-only Thayer Street, the SoWa (South of Washington) community becomes a vibrant gathering place every Sunday, May – October.
This is an excellent spot to shop local art and meet the artists. We visited on a Sunday when many of the studios were open because of the SoWa open market outside, so we got to see a wide variety of art. There’s a mix of painting, sculpture, jewelry, textile arts, and more at a range of different price points, so we enjoyed looking through all three floors of galleries.
We visited here after most shops had closed (5pm), and luckily some were still open! They have many small businesses which custom make their products which is fantastic, but they were not within my budget. And they have countless art studios where artists display their works and you can view them through the window. The downstairs displays were all open, and we could view the contemporary pieces from up close. The ladies were very nice and the pieces were interesting to view.
Una visita obligada. La gente, la comida, el ambiente, las galerías de arte y mucho más... todo excelente. Recomiendo que visites a Debby Krim, cuyo trabajo abarca fotografía, joyería y también pintura. Cedric Harper, de Haití (suite 213), también vale la pena visitar. Su visión contemporánea de la tecnología es bastante reveladora y pregúntale dónde obtiene su inspiración. Su trayectoria es inspiradora. El estacionamiento es difícil, pero vale la pena. No olvides los camiones de comida que hay cerca; es un buen añadido.
