Wonderful dine-in experience with the family! The restaurant has a rustic, at-home feel that made us feel comfortable right away. The biscuits with pimento cheese, warm butter, and jam were good, but the blue crab deviled eggs were the real standout. For entrées, we enjoyed a steak with béarnaise sauce and sunny-side-up eggs, along with a fried chicken sandwich—everything was delicious. Highly recommend the appetizers!
Our server, Joe, was fantastic. Very accommodating about my various eating restrictions and great with suggestions. Warm, welcoming atmosphere without feeling formal or stuffy. Easy to chat across the table. Food was wonderful, every morsel.
TLDR: overpriced, bad to mediocre food, small portions. Went to brunch here about six years ago. Ordered a breakfast plate and latte and was very underwhelmed. The portion was small and nothing special. The latte came in a tiny teacup. It was literally about four sips and looked like it had been sitting around for ages. Over the years, some friends have raved about the restaurant so we decided to give it a try for their Thanksgiving meal. Again, super disappointing. The turkey platter was nearly $50 each with very small portions for the meat, gravy, and cranberry. The turkey was fine; nothing stand out. I also ordered the sausage stuffing. It was almost inedible because it was so salty and had a weird texture (very mushy). The apple crumble was good, but there was barely a layer of apples. Maybe l’ll try it try it again in another six years…
We went for happy hour and had a great experience. Try the blue crab deviled eggs & the biscuits with pimento cheese are not to be missed! Really affordable prices & top notch service. We’ll definitely be back.
Came for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. Drinks were nice but took forever to arrive (bar was backed up per our server who apologized for the delay). Biscuits were amazing and an absolutely must here. The food (ribeye & butcher's steak), while good, took forever to arrive. One of my sides (creamed spinach) came well after my steak arrived. Some items were comped due to the delay. Overall, we enjoyed dinner and would come back.
