We took my brother and his wife for KC Restaurant Week. Most of our food was delicious. My wife and I had been before and had the Wagyu Experience and it was excellent! I’ll add comments under the photos. Note: For the first time since I have stopped drinking alcohol, the waiter embarrassed me and I felt belittled me with his comment. Everyone else at our table ordered an alcoholic beverage. I ordered ice tea with Splenda. He said, “Would you like me to go to McDonalds to get that?” I was not laughing. The service was good overall, but my rating is reflecting the comment from the waiter.
Went here as a solo diner on Christmas. Place was absolutely packed. I wasn’t sure how the service or food would be considering it was Christmas but wow. Both were absolutely amazing. Service was friendly and personable but never intrusive. I had the raw oysters, and the ribeye steak with a side of horseradish crème. Both were great. Steak may have been the best i have ever had. I ate the entire thing. I wish i had the opportunity to try more but didn’t want to spend too much on a solo dinner. The atmosphere was absolutely perfect as well. Perfectly dim, and nice decor. 5/5 experience.
Upscale steak joint with fancy steak prices, but a pretty robust menu. I had the lobster bones appetizer and it was fantastic, very rich. Some of the custom cocktails are outstanding too! Staff was friendly, decor is steakhouse modern. Usually pretty busy so reservations really recommended.
5-Star Review: An Unforgettable Evening at Stock Hill Stock Hill in Kansas City is the epitome of a modern steakhouse done right—elegant yet approachable, with an atmosphere that strikes the perfect balance between sophistication and warmth. From the moment we stepped into the beautifully appointed space just south of the Country Club Plaza, we knew we were in for a special night. The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the tomahawk steak, a massive, perfectly marbled ribeye that arrived at the table looking like a work of art. Cooked to absolute perfection—medium-rare with a gorgeous crust and juicy, tender interior—it was one of the best steaks we’ve ever had. The flavor was rich and beefy, sourced from top Midwest ranches as promised. The appetizers and sides were equally outstanding: creative, elevated takes on classics that complemented the main event beautifully. Everything was executed with precision and imagination. What truly elevated the experience to memorable heights was our server, Gary. Attentive without being intrusive, he delivered exceptional service with genuine warmth and a constant smile. He encouraged us to ask any questions about the menu, offered spot-on recommendations, and was always prompt, making us feel like valued guests throughout the evening. Stock Hill isn’t just a meal—it’s an experience. If you’re in Kansas City and craving a world-class steak dinner with impeccable service, this is the place. We’ll be back soon!
I came here for a friend’s birthday party. Our servers were super professional! The food was fantastic. I had a margarita and a dirty martini. Met my expectations! I do recommend the wagyu experience. Note that you can either get rare or medium rare. Mostly likely because you have to enjoy the fat, or marble, in the steak. You lose that flavor if you cook it more. It has great value considering each steak on their own would be 100+ dollars. However, the service fell a little short in a crucial detail: they gave us the option between soup and salad as a side. We didn’t know until we got the check that either option was 15 dollars. I think this should’ve been communicated to us. The way the server asked us gave us the impression that it was a free addition like other restaurants. First timers should go in prepared to ask if these sides are an additional charge or skip the option entirely. And staff should be clear on what’s being charged so customers can make an informed decision with their budget. The cheddar and broccoli soup was great FTW.
