I had the millionaire pie, brought back memories of when I was a child. It was absolutely delicious. I definitely recommend if you get a sweet tooth to stop by and get some great tasting pie! Just found out they have food too!!
I have rarely been as bitterly disappointed as I was during my visit to this café. The so-called cheesecake doesn’t even deserve the name, in my opinion. To me, it tasted like it was made from old, rancid milk—sticky, unpleasant, and honestly disgusting. On top of that, everything is massively overpriced. For these prices, I would expect far better quality. You would also expect them to offer a decent breakfast, but even there you end up disappointed once again. The selection felt poor, uninspired, and absolutely not worth the money. WAY TOO EXPENSIVE!!! For me personally, this visit was a complete letdown. I definitely won’t be returning, and I cannot recommend this café based on my experience.
I strongly advise against ordering decorated cookies from Sugarbakers. I placed a custom order for a graduation with specific instructions, and what I received was the complete opposite. The cookies were poorly done—messy and amateurish, as if a child had decorated them. When I requested a refund, I was told that the owner personally decorated them and that they would not issue a refund, only store credit. While that might be acceptable under other circumstances, I live out of town and the event begins in two hours. There’s no time to find an alternative. Sugarbakers used to be great when I lived in Lubbock, and perhaps it still is for some items—but if you’re looking for professionally decorated cookies, look elsewhere. This experience was both disappointing and, frankly, laughable given the quality of what was delivered.
Chicken salad was dry- needed more mayonnaise, and unclear to order. I ordered in the drive through and asked for chicken salad on white. I didn’t know there were 2 kinds and I had to specify that I wanted the cranberry. The lady at the window was not friendly and I didn’t get what I wanted. It was on plain store bought white bread, my drink was tiny, and my total was almost $17.00. The muffin was undercooked in the middle. I could have made better myself at home for half the price. Unbelievably overpriced for what I got, which wasn’t even what I wanted. Also, the drive through doesn’t have prices listed.
What a delight! Took my friend to Sugarbakers for lunch! She had the Tuna Salad Stuffed Avocado. I had the small Southwest Chicken Salad. We ate every bite but didn't lick our plates. It was tempting to do that but we resisted. The deserts looked scrumptious but we were too full. We should have gotten something for later. Next trip!!! And there will be a next trip!
