Erik at Take Pride Barber Shop is hands-down the best barber I’ve ever had. He’s incredibly skilled, easy to talk to (or just sit in comfortable silence with), and genuinely listens to what you want. I’ve been going to him for years and followed him to Take Pride Barber Shop because there is no one else I trust with my hair. My hair is so gender-affirming and I get compliments on my hair all the time, and it’s all thanks to his work.
1st time at Take Pride. From the second I walked in, I was welcomed. They offered snacks, drinks and cuddles with the shop pooch, Razor (adorable pup). Sarah did my cut. I showed her a picture and she asked clarifying questions to make sure I understood exactly what I wanted. This was fantastic. I've never had anyone ask me anything other than "do you want the back squared or rounded". Cut turned out phenomenal. Syd waxed my eyebrows. She made sure to also ask clarifying questions and the brows turned out stunning. The atmosphere, conversation, eye for detail and expertise are quite apparent. This will now be my new shop. Thank you for such a great experience.
I have been looking for a new barbershop since my current barber moved to Hawaii. I was literally about to buzz my head until my wife sent me this place. So I decided to check it out yesterday and really loved it. The shop it's self is super cool with art all over the walls, big TV, cool music, and drinks(including beer)/snack you can grab while you wait. It was super inviting when I walked in, and other people came in while I was getting cut. Loved that it felt super inclusive! Alejandro was super nice and did a killer job on listening to my rambling about what I wanted and actually turning it into exactly what I wanted. Super happy with my cut and he did an amazing job on my fade. All in all I will be back for sure! Note it is cash only but they have atm on site. Update: Took my 7 year old here today and the barber did amazing! Kiddo was hesitant about cutting hair but they talked them into just doing some clean up. They sat really well and was chatting, looked like such an adult. Plus the shop dog Razor was so sweet!
