A well curated, high quality selection of beer, wine and liquor including many lesser known names that often go unrecognized while offering great value. This, combined with a knowledgeable purveyor, makes it a great place for finding new favorites. Additionally, all products are stored and displayed at appropriate temperatures.
Owner was very rude. My father walked in during regular hours after a day of hard work in construction. Employee stopped him immediately at the door. Would not allow him to look for what he came to shop for. I understand with the neighborhood shop owners are on high alert for homeless entering especially into a liquor store but with this type of behavior they won't get much business from locals.
My favorite wine shop in the springs. It's small and locally owned by a couple who are extremely knowledgeable about their collection. I wasn't quite sure of what I wanted, but they helped me pick out two wines that did not disappoint in the slightest! Did not get the chance, but it seems that they do tastings once a week as well.
The Oak Barrel is a fairly new shop in the burgeoning Creekwalk. Clean and modern, it’s presents as a wine shop, and not the average, corner liquor store. However, the selection is surprisingly small and the prices surprisingly high. This is not the place to go for a deal, nor is it the place to go for friendly service. Frankly, the owners are a bit abrupt and seemed almost surprised to see customers. We may check back in a month or two, but it’s unlikely to become a regular stop for us.
Wife went here to pick up something special for a new years dinner. The owner greeted her and showed her around the store as well as provided excellent wine recommendations to fit our budget! We had the South African Syrah and it was phenomenal, didn't last through dinner it was it was good! Will definitely be coming by more frequently to get new recommendations not just for wine, but spirits too!
