We stayed in an Airbnb right next to The Sound when we were in Texas this summer and ended up here basically every night because it was just too hot to be out anywhere else during the day. Once the sun started to chill out (a tiny bit), there was a breeze off the water and we were able to remember how to function. The place is really pretty... walkways, water, grass, and those giant art pieces that practically beg you to take pictures in front of them. Every direction is a photo spot, which is great because my camera roll is already 95% my kid doing weird things in random locations. The sunsets here are unreal. Like the sky always decided to show off, and everyone just stops what they’re doing and watches it. Texas skies are different. The area is super clean, people were genuinely nice as you passed by, and it felt safe to wander around with a toddler who refused to sit in a stroller and also refused to walk in a straight line. Restaurants and ice cream close by so you don’t have to think... just wander and pick whatever smells good. Honestly, it was the perfect spot to get us out of the airbnb- good location, close by, pretty, breezy, kid-friendly, and everyone is sweating their butts off too.... Id love to go back and see how it transforms over the years...
Our favourite place to hang out, go for a walk, or just catch up with friends! There are Long trails, beautiful sunsets, and a lovely lawn for picnics. The sound apartments are a bit expensive for the service offered, but we were really there just for the lake-view home vibes!
Just an all around great experience! The night market and music was great! The Cypress Water Trail is beautiful!!
The ambiance inside and outside are excellent. The overall area gives good vibes and the lake is absolutely splendid. It's a good place for dining and partying in groups. The area offers options for walking/running/jogging by the lakeside. During nights, the area lights up well and is quite safe for taking walks along the lakeside.
Great path for a nice walk. We saw wild life and it was a peaceful weekend for a walk. There are restrooms that are well kept at the sound by the amphitheater. If you need a quick drink there is also a 7eleven near by. There are quite a few small restaurants here as well including rodeo goat, flying fish, Landon winery, flying saucer and more. It’s a great little area to come and hang out and enjoy the day. Lots of people had their dogs with them. We will absolutely return.
