Felt like a bait and switch. I used the website to get a quote on my documents. Price changed after ordering and they asked for more money. I requested cancellation and they stalled or offered discounts on the increased price, I continually followed up then they stopped responding. Used another translation service that got the job done.
Very, very shoddy work. I would NEVER use them again for any important translation, especially if it's a document I need to submit to any government agency. First let me start off by stating that I myself am a Federally certified Court Translator & Interpreter for Spanish/English. I do legal translations every day as part of my work. My wife needed her Spanish birth certificate translated into English but due to conflict of interest rules imposed by my job I myself am not allowed to officially translate any documents for my immediate family members, so I went with these guys. Long story short, I sent their work back 3 times until they finally got it right. It turns out that whoever did the translation kept insisting on translating "ciudadano estadounidense" into "American citizen". You cannot use "American citizen" on an official document, because American is a generic term that applies to anyone born in the Americas. This translation job was for a document that was to be submitted to the U.S. Department of State. The correct translation in this case would be "U.S. citizen". After sending their translation back for correction twice, the guy that did the job sent me back the exact same translation he sent originally UNCORRECTED both times, the second time he sent it back he cut & paste in his email the dictionary definition of "American" from some random dictionary to show that "American" and "U.S. citizen " mean the same. Yes they do; COLLOQUIALLY, but NOT on an official legal translation! So I in turn sent him a copy of the U.S. Department of State rules that govern correct use of terminology in official legal translations, after which I finally got back a useful translation. Obviously the translators they use are subpar at best. Now let's talk about their SPAM. Oh my God, ever since I used their services they bomb my inbox every day with spam, even several times per day. There's no Unsubscribe option included, their Send Feedback link doesn't work and they offer no way whatsoever to contact them by email. I sent them a request to their billing email, the only working email they offer, asking that they PLEASE stop spamming me and now they're spamming me even MORE. In other words; not only are their translations bad, but they're EVIL as well!
STAY AWAY! I have translated several simple 1 page documents with them in the past and it was fine. This time I had to translate a 4 page document and it was a different story all together. I put an order on their site, paid for it and next day recieved an email claiming that the word count (done on their site) is incorrect and I have an outstanding balance for the difference and they cannot proceed until I pay it. Well, I count words myself, also send the text to ai to count and the total word count comes down to the original amount. So they were trying to charge me extra for nothing, hoping that I won't check it myself I guess. So I write them an email asking to cancel my order as I'm not comfortable continuing working with them after they mislead me like that. I hear nothing from them for several days. So I write them again asking to cancel and refund me in full. Again, no reply for 2 days. Finally all of the sudden I receive a letter from them saying that my order has been processed and shipped and they are not going to refund. That email is followed by another one, in which they proclaim their commitment to customers - as a joke i guess. Never again. By contrast I ordered translation from IMMITRANSLATE - they were twice as cheap, and did the job twice as fast. Never never again, Spanish Group.
Excellent Service. Really professional. It feels very warm because of the good service. Also they are there for you if you don't know what to do or if you made any mistake. Actually I made a mistake in the order and they wrote me a few minutes later just to let me know and fix it.
