Forgot to take pictures of the food, but everything was really delicious and Adam was a lovely server. The passion fruit martini was also delicious! They also made a lovely baby bowl for my baby, and kids under 2 eat free. 5 stars all round.
My wife and I went to the Teal Monkey for dinner before a gig. We had booked a table for 17:30 when we arrived we were taken to a great table upstairs. I had the goats cheese fritters with beetroot they were cooked to perfection nice and crispy outside. My wife had the salt and chilli chicken which had a great crunch and a lovely heat to it. I had the surf and turf I asked for the steak blue / rare it was more medium rare but was silly melt in the month. There was a tasty creamy peppercorn sauce which complimented the steak extremely well. There was 2 large crispy onion rings and some mushrooms. I had garlic fries with it. The prawns came out in a garlic butter There were not the biggest king prans but there was plenty of them. My wife had the salmon with crushed potatoes. The salmon looked really well cooked with a crispy skin. My wife said that her meal was great and she really enjoyed it. We had a bottle of The Jumper Sauvignon Blanc which was £29. The service was extremely good and at the end of the meal I wanted to add a tip but was advised tips could not be added on but had to be in cash. I used first table which gives you 50% off the food so the wing was £29 and the overall bill was £69. Overall a great experience and would thoroughly recommend. Will be back soon.
Service was absolutely amazing. I came in without a reservation because I'm pisspoor at proper planning and was lucky enough to get seated anyways. Had a proper pint of Guinness and the last of the beef cheeks. When I say tender, I could have cut them with a spoon. The ambiance of the restaurant is warm and welcoming. And the service is probably the best I've had in Belfast so far.
We stopped here for lunch and had a mix of cocktails, starters and mains. Food was tasty and cocktails were delicious. Service was great and good value for money. The location is outside the hustle and bustle of the city but still close enough to walk.
Without question, one of the best meals that I've had IN MY LIFE. The atmosphere is beautifully executed, especially for such a small space. I loved the clever use of movable faux-planters that created a sense of privacy without making the dining room feel closed in. Service was spot on: warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly. The food: Goat cheese fritters - light and elegantly balanced with beets and a bed of lettuce, crunch of candied walnuts. A delightful dish. Pork chop main - wars have been fought over less beautiful things. The cook was perfect, the carrots blew me away, the sauce had a robust yet complimentary flavor. This is the food that dreams are made of. Summer eton mess dessert - wow! Cracked meringue with cream and berries.... Genius. Light, sweet, creamy, perfect. I left feeling very full, extremely satisfied, and the price was shockingly reasonable. I cannot recommend this place enough. ---------------- So good that we went back the very next day. If we lived local this would be a regular spot, without a doubt.
