I moved to St Louis in August and picked Up and Up salon.off the yelp reviews and location. I could not be happier! Catie and Adyson are absolutely amazing! Color is exactly what I was looking for ( without even knowing it). They do such a good job of educating me about products and my new-found curly hair. So thankful I found this salon and Catie. She does some kind of voodoo magic to my hair and brings mu curls to life! Highly recommend Up and Up salon-and most especially ask for Catie.
The service was very friendly and informative. However the atmosphere did feel a bit rushed as my stylist kept switching over to cut other clients hair and other workers would step in while she was busy. I usually prefer for one stylist to work on my hair during an appointment because they know the style I am wanting not the other workers who sub in when she is busy. I did not mind my haircut but I would like it to be more thorough next time as I am still feeling like I need to finish the cut. I will be giving this salon another try in the future but I do hope next time there is a little bit more focus from the specific stylist that I book with.
Let me first say Destiny is AMAZING. I am a 4c curly girl so I was a bit nervous scheduling an appointment as a new client and a 1st time curly cut. Over the course of a year, I have now visited the salon 4 times. Destiny did my first cut and nailed it, but the struggle was the lack of knowledge in how to style 4c textured hair, however, she did ok. My next appointment I had to reschedule so I didn't get Destiny. This visit, I have to be honest made me want to cry, but I lived with the color and cut and decided to make my next appoint with Destiny only. I met with her again and went over my previous visit experience with her. She listened and made me feel like whatever issues I am encountering with having a knowledgeable stylist she would do anything within reason to help me overcome the anxiety. So I left that visit and patiently awaited my next service of color and OMG she went above and beyond for this time I sat in her chair, My color service with her has always been stellar, however, this time she remembered our previous conversation on styling 4c hair and I have to say I walked out of my visit this time feeling beautiful and loving EVERYTHING ABOUT MY SERVICE! I bought a few products and wow, I am just so happy that my concerns were heard. She thought about them and applied her knowledge towards little old me :-) Thank you Destiny so much!!! And I love the L'oreal Curl Expression cream. My hair is fire!!!
Adyson always does an incredible job with my cuts, colors, and styles 🙂. She’s very attentive and gentle with my hair. The stylists are all very welcoming and friendly. I always enjoy my appointments and leave satisfied.
I’m so happy to have this salon in my home of the Grove. I’ve been going for several years and love my stylist Sahara! She always makes my hair look and feel amazing. Hair cut days are always a treat due to her warm personality and how amazing my hair looks afterwards. She does an initial consultation to really listen and ask about my routine, whereas most stylists I’ve been to just glance at my photo for two seconds and ask for minimal feedback. The products they use are great and I did purchase an amazing mousse/gel once that I use for special occasions. Everything is worth the price
