I had a great experience with True Light Electric. The service was prompt, professional, and reasonably priced. I especially want to recognize the technician, Santiago, who did an outstanding job. Update: The owner contacted me the same day my installation happened asking how everything went. I explained to him my frustrations about not being notified of the “show up fee” and by not letting potential customers know it’s like we were being scammed into paying. I also explained to him about being referred by the dealership and that this experience was not what should have happened as a new electric car owner trying to get a charger installed. He did apologize and said that he will have to talk to his technicians about the fee. I explained to him that he needs to educated his receptionist to explain that to customers as they are scheduling. He did state that he strives for 100% customer satisfaction and offered a refunded discount for the miscommunication and being an Acura referral. I do appreciate his effort to make it right. I had a charger for my NEW electric car installed by them (this is a new process for us as new electric car owners) as they were recommended by the dealership. They do not list any upfront prices on their website and when you call you are just told that their technicians will come out and give a quote for the services. We were expecting around $600ish as that was what the dealership stated it will be around. When they came out, they advised that there is going to be a $69 show up fee that was NOT stated at the time that I called to make the appointment. And when we stated that, the technician said that’s mandatory. If you are going to charge that it needs to be stated so customers don’t get forced into paying that fee. And then you don’t even waive the fee as we still agreed to have you install the charger. In the end I paid almost $800, shop around because other companies don’t charge that much.
