I highly recommend Shelley and True North Coaching. The care, time and attention Shelley devoted to me and the process during my Career Coaching sessions was invaluable. She leads with compassion and I gained so many insights about myself and my career past, present and future. If you are feeling stuck or not sure how you want to move forward, do yourself a favor and work with Shelley!

Shelley is really excellent. She will help you diagnose your strengths and weaknesses, learn how to navigate tricky interpersonal dynamics with grace, and plan (and execute!) concrete steps to improve your life and career. Some things in life are difficult or impossible to do by yourself - reframing your perspective when it's gone stale, articulating your values in foggy circumstances, challenging your deep-seated (but erroneous) assumptions. Shelley provides the tools to build a new framework and guides with compassion and clear-eyed honesty.

I've experienced tremendous growth and success, much of which I attribute to working with Shelley! She provided constructive feedback, professional insights, and for me the key was the PDP! Once I committed to it, it served as a driving force for my success and the accountability with Shelley. It truly helped me to solidify and pen my values, experience, and background; we identified what key steps were needed next to help me achieve the next level in my career. Every session with Shelley was absolutely valuable, she is a keen listener, has relevant experience and industry knowledge. She worked with me at my every challenge, need, or desire for areas of focus. Working with Shelley has allowed me to gain clarity that I don't believe I could have achieved on my own. She has great resources under her toolbelt and is extremely likable and fun! She challenged me, helped me grow, learn, and adapt and encouraged my own personal goal of reading more, which I am now doing and feeling fulfilled thereby! We had many fruitful sessions and I attribute it to her keen listening skills and the ability to draw from previous conversations and help me make connections and really dive deep as learning things about myself, my inner critic, and my beliefs. Lastly, Shelley helped me navigate an internal promotion from start to finish, she guided me in the early days of the transition, and was instrumental in preparing me for a proper salary negotiation. My advice to anyone on the fence about taking up a coach is to get out of your head and begin the work!! You won't be disappointed!

I have been working with Shelley for the past 2 years on my leadership development journey. What I thought would be a straight line, I soon learned with Shelley's guidance, was a winding path with several ups and downs along the way. Shelley supported me as I took a deep dive into my professional and personal history and learned how it affects my approach and my perceptions. She helped me to slow down and recognize certain behaviors and understand that I can pivot in the moment or try again next time. Ultimately, my work with Shelley turned out to be so much more than what I expected. Her approach to coaching was exactly what I needed.

First of all I would like to say that I would recommend Shelley to anyone needing career guidance. As my counselor Shelley helped me transition my career from bartending to Tech Sales which was a difficult and scary transition for me. From the start Shelley was fantastic. Initially I had no idea of which direction I wanted my career to go, I just knew I wanted it to go somewhere else. Shelley was so kind and patient as she helped me figure this out, and gave me a step by step guide on how to explore my options and make an educated decision. She also helped me assess my skill set which played a large part in directing my energy. Once we were able to determine the direction I wanted to go, Shelley gave me such great support with the application process, resume building, interview prep and generally how to sell myself to potential employers based on what they were looking for. In the process Shelley made me so much more confident in myself and what I had to offer. I landed a great job within days of my final session with Shelley, and now I’m month 3 I am absolutely loving it and doing very well. It was the perfect job for me and Shelley was the one that got me there. Along with everything else I mentioned, Shelley suggested several books that were so spot on in discussing the issues I was going through and supported me as much or as little as I needed. In summary, I cannot recommend Shelley enough! Personally I have been wanting to make a change career-wise for several years but had zero idea where to begin. Working with Shelley was one of the best decisions I have ever made, she literally changed my life and I am so much happier for it. She helped me navigate such uncertainty in the most caring and skillful way, and gave me every tool I needed to move forward. Again I cannot recommend Shelley enough, you will not regret working with her! 10 out of 10 for me.
