Whenever I’m in Newcastle I stop here to buy some vino. Staff are always friendly and happy to have a chat about wine. The range is excellent and independently curated. We’ve got some great bargain wines that are sensational. Highly recommend stopping in — next time I’d love to have a glass of vino and a snack!
The best wines by the glass offering in Newcastle. This boutique wine bar is a quaint and chill step off the busy Beaumont street. Josh and Florence really know how to run a fun and personable hospitality venue. There is a huge coravin wines by the glass list along side a huge takeaway wine offering. Cocktails are also available. They have hundreds of unique and usual rare wine offerings. With a focus on smaller producers that mostly farmed organically. Josh says they seek products that "primarily have an emphasis and focus on being environmentally friendly". 12/12/24 Wow what a fantastic idea, Josh and Florence and the team at Vera Wine now offer a mystery glass for $14. The game is guess the grape or region and get the glass for free. The bottle opened can be "anything". Have fun 😊
This joint is an absolute gem. Owner Josh is knowledgable, sincere and, well, just a good human being. Love the option of sitting in, corking a great bottle along with a charcuterie board. Easy 5 stars.
We have been buying wine at Vera since opening and have now stopped purchasing wine anywhere else! Vera offers a large variety of niche wines from environmentally friendly vineyards across the world, with a revolving door of delectable new wines to try each week. There are aroma and tasting notes on each bottle, which helps you narrow down on the flavours you are looking for. Since opening the wine bar section, Vera is a bustling little hub for your afternoon delight.
Vera Wines were the incredible and easy going wine bar that supplied and supported our wedding day. To say supported is an understatement, Josh went above and beyond from day 1 of contacting him, he popped over to our menu tasting so we could try their wines with our food! We were blown away by this and knew they were the right choice. Josh was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, ensuring that we didn't over spend and also selected the best fit drinks for our day, to say he nailed it, is another understatement. They dropped the wine off at our venue no issues. If you do one thing for your hunter valley and surrounds wedding day book in Vera Wines to be your guardian wine angels!
