What a lovely shop! I appreciated the tags on each varietal with descriptions and pairings. I left with an excellent wine from Cyprus which was fascinating. Nice selection of liquor/cordials as well. Small parking lot accessible from Grand St. or the alley behind the building. Street parking as well. Handicapped accessible. Between Violet Wine and Small Hours a couple blocks away, NE MPLS has wonderful wine connoisseurs! Support local businesses!
We were visiting from Houston when we noticed this charming place and decided to pop in to check it out. The owner, Fred, was incredibly welcoming and took the time to explain the different wines to us. He even went above and beyond by writing down some local points of interest for our visit. The wine he suggested was absolutely delicious, and the experience as a whole was delightful. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area. I truly hope Fred’s business continues to thrive and prosper—he certainly deserves it. Mike
I LOVE this place! I live nearby and have become a regular. Not only do they sell wine and spirits but there is also a selection of beer, sake, cider, and THC products. Fred is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and helps you find what you’re looking for. They have wine tastings on Friday 5-7 or Saturday 1-3, to which are warm and welcoming even if you don’t know a lot about wine (like me). Definitely recommend this place!
Update. They do great wine tastings on Friday from 5-7. The wines are always interesting, and they usually have quite a good variety. They are discounted during the tasting... An added bonus. Wow. What a find! The bartender at Dutch Bar recommended this small liquor store. I am glad she did, as we would never have seen it or gone had that not been the case. It is in Northeast Minneapolis, and not in an area with lots of other retail. They specialize in small winemakers and natural wines. They also have a carefully curated collection of spirits and things like vermouth. We were able to get the unusual gin I had at Dutch Bar there. The shopkeeper recommended a whiskey from Kansas City, and it is fantastic and a great price! They have knowledgeable staff who can give you guidance. This is a "must go to" liquor store. Even driving down Marshall it would be hard to spot! They have parking in the back, but street parking is also easy. The address is 2435 Marshall St. NE.
Fantastic, ethically sourced and delicious curation and love the people there—those who run the store, and those who frequent it! On Saturday (2024-02-24) they had a special “Loire Valley Tour” wine-tasting event with all the wines placed on top of a massive hand-drawn map of the region, paired with crackers and cheese local to the area—Sean presented and killed it! ❤️🔥 Tuesdays and Fridays are always fun and enlightening, and the shop has magazines and books about wine that you can read, too. Nice dedicated lounging and seating areas. People know me by name and I can always count on getting a great recommendation from anyone there. Love chatting up the other customers there, too. Vibes of the store are perfect, huge props to Erikka for making such a relaxing, open, yet welcoming space. Fred and Sean are good guys; and thank you to Britta for taking care of my bottles the night I left the store without them. Haha. 💞
