Recently moved to a new, larger location, but still has a cozy feel with a coffee bar up front, reading space in a loft, and a theater in the back. Nice selection of new and used books.
Visiting from out of town and a friend who lives nearby recommended this place. I wish I could bring it back to Atlanta! Absolutely loved the layout, the quality/style of the interior design, and all of the options for seating. The coffee we had was amazing and I hope to be back for future visits!
Risked my life in pursuit of yet more books yesterday. With each passing minute, the ice and sludge and traffic grew worse in Cleveland, but I was determined to discover a new bookstore. Beautiful space, good music, friendly staff, and an excellent selection. They have all of the beautifully obscure literary classics that you just don’t see in other bookstores — and a large selection of NYRB titles. I left with two Nelson Algren’s and two Chester Himes’ — feeling very much that gritty, seedy, urban underbelly mood as I trudged through dirty city snow, and drove home through some rougher parts of town. If I’d had more time, who knows what I might have left with! Definitely plan on a return visit! 📚☕️✨
I just find my new favorite place to do some work while in Cleveland. The owners did an amazing job renovating and turning it into their dream. Drinks, food, books, seating, all amazing presentation. The upstairs area is wonderful for seating. The old theatre in back is amazing. Perfect mix of original architecture and new modern upgrades. I’m not sure the books selection will suit everyone, it seems more specialized. I’m so glad I went!
I’ve been a fan of Visible Voice from their start in Tremont. The new location in Ohio City has, at least, doubled the inventory. Add a coffee bar, a beautifully restored stage with seating, and a second floor loft space, well, you have what will soon be a Cleveland treasure.
