The layout of genres is intuitive, and yet somehow, as somehow who mostly reads fiction, I found myself drawn in to their non-fiction titles. The selection is incredibly unique and fantastically curated. If one book catches your eye, another 10 will align with your interests. The member of staff working there was friendly and available for any questions, but they let us get on with our browsing in peace. They clearly understand their clientele! I showed restraint and came away with 6 titles, and I am one happy chappy. This is one of the best bookshops I’ve visited. I strongly recommend!
what a lovely bookshop, i can’t believe it took me so long to discover it! bored of only buying books from the generic waterstones, i decided to research independent bookstores in birmingham. i discovered that voce exists and paid a visit and wow, am i impressed! there are so many wonderful books here that i’ve never seen anywhere else. the owners are lovely and it’s amazing to see such a beautifully curated collection of stories the events they have on also look interesting and i plan to attend one at some point. lovely little place, definitely a must visit for the weird and wonderful stories you won’t find elsewhere
What an independent book shop should be all about. I've had some wonderful recommendations and found books that I've wanted to read here too. I love the fact that when I visit I'm pleasantly overwhelmed on the reading and range of options available.
A bibliophilic gem hidden away in the heart of the city. Voce Books has wide range of independent and engaging titles that you may struggle to find in your larger chain bookshops like Waterstones. Clive and Maria are excellent hosts/owners who have a superb knowledge of books and publishing, and if they don’t have what you’re after, they’ll happily order it for you. In fact, Clive had done just that last time I was there. It’s always great to have a chat about books, Birmingham, politics etc., but be warned, you could end up buying more books than you bargained on, I know I often do.
Love it! Hidden gem in city centre behind moor street. They have got lot of unique books I have never seen anywhere before. There are some local books, foreign ones, about all kind of topics. Absolutely a must check out! 💎
