I wandered into When Pigs Fly looking for a gift for a contractor friend — not an easy person to shop for — and left absolutely delighted. This shop is pure magic. Every corner is filled with pieces that make you smile, laugh, or pause just long enough to say, “Oh, that’s perfect.” I found a gift that was so unique — thoughtful, a little cheeky, and full of character — exactly the kind of piece that tells a story before it’s even unwrapped. The staff were wonderful too, genuinely interested in helping me find something personal. What I love most about When Pigs Fly is that it’s not just a store — it’s an experience. It’s where creativity meets charm, and where even the most practical gift feels special. If you ever need to find something meaningful (especially for someone who’s impossible to shop for), this is the place.
When Pigs Fly definitely has a unique and quirky charm with a wide selection of knick-knacks and novelty items. If you're into fun gifts, collectibles, or home decor with personality, there's a good chance you'll find something that catches your eye. That said, a lot of the items do seem overpriced—especially if you're shopping on a budget. I’d recommend using Google Lens while browsing; chances are you can find many of the same items online for much cheaper. What really brought the experience down, though, was the lack of customer service. No greeting when I entered, no offers to help, and overall just a cold, indifferent atmosphere. It felt like customers were an afterthought. If you're just window-shopping or looking for ideas, it might be worth a quick visit. But if you're expecting great service or a good deal, you might want to look elsewhere.
Unique quirky gift shop on Whyte Avenue. The store is kept organized and has great lighting. It is not mobility friendly or accessible, as the aisles are small and there is often a crowd / the store is cramped from foot traffic. There are no public washrooms. They have everything from birdhouses, candles, socks, cards, candy, office supplies and everything in between. They always have a cute seasonal display and products that rotate. The downsides: sometimes the prices are steep compared to other shops and the candy/food is often close to its expiry date.
Unique quirky gift shop on Whyte Avenue. The store is well lit and clean. No public washrooms. Parking is not great around Whyte Ave but you can find spots on the side streets. From candles to socks and everything in between. You have to visit to see what’s here because there is a wack load of stuff. My wife and I enjoyed our visit and have been here in the past. Check it out.
I had an awesome experience at this unique gift shop in Edmonton. The name itself, When Pigs Fly is catchy enough. I love Gnomes!!! I was so happy when I saw all the gnomes displayed outside during Christmas and other festivities. This shop has so many beautiful and cute gnomes that left me wondering whether I can collect them all! There are also many selections and assortments of unique gifts and trinkets that you can get for family and friends for almost any occasion. I will definitely come back to get more gnomes to add to my collection.
