Visited this spot while in town from LA and it was just what I needed! Very welcoming space that brought me back into my body.
Immediately very warm and welcoming place. Extremely chill. Makes my hippy heart happy. Imagine walking into a vintage anthropologie-esque yoga studio and that’s what abide yoga is. Loved the slow beginning to the class and by the middle had warmed up well to do the harder stuff. It’s a come as you are, wear what you want, do whatever you want, kind of place. (As opposed to the wealthy-lululemon-wearing intimidating vibes of other places). They have tea and water and extra mats and every kind of prop that you could imagine. I’m definitely going to sign up for a membership.
I've been coming to Abide for over a decade, and in all those years I have never found a community centered studio that comes close to what Hope has created. The studio is sliding scale to make yoga financially accessible, on any given day you'll be surrounded by people of different body sizes, ages, and backgrounds. If you can't physically make it into the studio, there are virtual classes to join. There's a community tea bar for people to get cozy and make conversation with each other, and a clothing rack for people to bring/take what they need. There are so many amazing teachers who all teach in their own authentic ways, and invite you to find softness in your body. Abide is the embodiment of community care.
Abide is the best yoga studio I’ve ever been to in my 20 + years of practicing!! It is such a welcoming space for everyone. It’s been so good for my practice, heart and soul! 💗
Love this place. My family has gone for years. So happy they are in the neighbourhood! My Mom probably does 5-7sessions a week & she swears by it. She said today that she’ll always go there. Her friend actually drives 45min a few times a week as well just to go to Abide so clearly they are doing something right! …whether your looking for a new yoga home or just wanting to poke around & see what it’s all about Abide is a great place that offers a lot of variety & flexible options so I’m sure you’ll find what your looking for. It is a very homey environment…come as you are.. there is water & tea & they have a clean bathroom if you need to change! As well as everything else you need for the session so don’t worry if you forgot your mat or don’t have one. They also supply everything else including balls & sticks & blocks & blankets (weighted too). Today I tried the Moving Forward it was cool, our instructor Missy (I think) was very creative, All of them have great energy & flow & are very passionate about making sure you get what you came for, whatever that is. I couldn’t do much today & was just there mainly to work on my feet & ankles which are super sore & sensitive from Physical Therapy. I feel much better After going. …BTW I’m so glad they survived Covid!…if you can’t make a class or like being at Home they also offer online Zoom Classes filmed live from the studio.
