La Academia de Artes Marciales en Oklahoma City ofrece boxeo, autodefensa, Muay Thai y jiu-jitsu en un espacio limpio y acogedor. The facility is awesome — the head coach for Muay Thai is experienced, knows exactly what to say to improve your, and pushes me to my limits. They offer muay thai 3 days a week (Mon/Wed/Sat), although I did go to one Saturday session and found no one was there (presumably they notified folks at the Wednesday session prior, which I couldn't make). For all this, it's a 5 stars. Unfortunately cancelling at this gym is absurd, you need a 30 day advanced notice for cancellation. If you end up in a situation where you suddenly can no longer attend the gym (financial, external personal injury, etc.), not only do you have to pay for the upcoming billing month, but also the month after that. This is primitive and inconvenient despite there already being a sign-up fee as well as no contract based membership (so you would think you can just cancel anytime). Granted, I found out that this detail was in the contract that I signed up for in the beginning, so it's not like AMA is hiding this anywhere, but it is a customer-unfriendly business practice that unfortunately exists in the gym world that needs to be rethought in 2025. I recommend this gym for anyone interested in muay thai but be sure to keep in mind this policy.
My body is sore and the team is amazing. I couldn't finish my exercise but the coach is great and not judgemental. I deal with anxiety disorder and they treated me great . I cried tears of joy because I found my new home gym. Strong beautiful team
Best MMA gym on this side of OKC. Muay Thai is the top notch. Traditional Jiujitsu and No-gi jiujitsu have some of the best coaches of both styles. Highly recommend beginners or expert levels. Open mat on Friday 630pm all are welcome
I had a fantastic experience at AMA! The gym is impeccably clean and has a genuinely welcoming, female-friendly atmosphere. Training here is comfortable, especially with the incredible support from both instructors and fellow students. A highlight is the female black belt instructor, whose expertise and dedication create an empowering environment for all practitioners. Whether you're a beginner or advanced, this gym is perfect for anyone looking to improve their Jiu Jitsu skills. Highly recommend!
I was privileged to come with SOTTG (Sisterhood of the Traveling Gi) get together on the mats today at Academy of Martial Arts. No Gi and Gi training today where women meet women on the mats. It was amazing to see the security these women have built with each other. The patience, kindness and willingness to teach. They make space for recovery, for injuries, disabilities and limitations. All women, all types, all levels. This facility offers classes: Boxing Self-defense classes Muay Thai Jiu Jitsu They also have gear for sale!
