I see this shop & owner(s) have a POOR HISTORY of arguing/debating w/customers over THEIR experiences instead of simply making things right and retaining customers! Let it be known BILL & whoever else, that no one can tell us what our experiences were & AK Cake Studio would be NOTHING without the little customer base you do have, and you also never know who you're dealing with! So, I'd tread lightly & get some customer service/service recovery training*** For me unfortunately, this review falls into the latter of disappointing vs an exceptional experience. This studio used to be one of my favorites. On 11/15/25, I purchased 2 Oreo Cookies 'n Cream and 2 Chocolate 'n Peanut Butter cupcakes from the 5th Ave location, excited because I had just bought the same flavors from the Dimond Mall earlier that day and they were perfect. However, when I went to enjoy the 5th Ave cupcakes the next day, even after letting them sit out for over an hour, they were noticeably hard and not fresh--a first for me. I contacted the store and was assured via email that a replacement of my 4 cupcakes would be “no problem” and that I or my roommate could pick them up at our convenience. When my roommate arrived, she was told to choose from whatever was in stock—not the flavors I originally paid for. There was no offer to remake my order, only a vague apology and a refund from "Bill". As someone who values genuine customer service, this was disappointing. Why would I want random flavors when I specifically ordered Oreo and Chocolate Peanut Butter? A simple remake would have shown care and retained my loyalty. Instead, this experience has left me and my group unwilling to return. I hope management takes this feedback & their business for lack of words seriously and improves communication and customer satisfaction moving forward before you're left with no business at all.
I ordered a gluten free cake for my friend's birthday party 🥳🎉... The cashier (working Mon Aug 25, 3pm) was patient with all the details I wanted. Vanilla almond infusion cake was SPECTACULAR, moist & delicious, INCREDIBLE cream cheese icing, very well received among our group, & the gluten free version has a wonderful texture & EVERYONE raved!!! Thank you for contributing to a GREAT BIRTHDAY!! 🎂🎂🎂
Great Cafe, gives the Euro Mall Cafe Feel. I would say very tasty desserts. My only wish to put this over the top is real cups. I went two times. They have conoli, cake, so many different offerings. Each time both staff were great and very friendly.
I ordered a dozen cupcakes with a bee theme. I was told they could add a bee topper for 1.50. Which brought the honey infusion cupcake to 6.00 each. I wouldn't have minded paying 72$ a dozen for beautiful cupcakes, but what I got was very basic cupcakes with some sanding sugar and tiny sugar bees. When I called to express my disappointment, I was told a manager wasn't present but would call me later. It's been a week, and I haven't heard anything. I stopped at the Babycakes Food Truck the next day and got some beautifully decorated, delicious cupcakes. 5.50$ each and 6 for 31$. This was the third time at Alaska Cakes Bakery, with both previous times being bad employee experiences. Never returning, you need to make better products, train your employees better, and follow through with customer issues.
A pick-me-up!! Somehow my friend convinced me to go in this shop “just to look”. Now how you gonna go in a place this delectable and just look? You’re not…. So Obviously within 1 minute it was all, “so what we gettin’ girl?!” The choice was toffee cupcakes. Baking executed immaculately!! If they had the icing in a tub I would eat it with a spoon… no Shame! The cake part was soft and sweet, but not overbearing with sweetness. They have a small selection of local art! I bought some stickers, and made this my souvenir stop. There were some attractive paintings for sale as well. The aesthetic is winsome, and the desserts are on point. Let temptation win. If you’re walking by, treat yo self !
