Terrible experience. Came here this afternoon with three teenagers, four adults, and a little one. The staff showed no concern for their customers’ safety or quality of the experience. Many games were broken and other patrons were drunk and unruly. Despite the website showing plenty of availability in the go-kart races all afternoon, we had to wait nearly two hours. One of the drivers in our race was noticeably intoxicated. She drove erratically, hit the walls and other carts at full speed, and shouted obscenities and flipped off everyone she passed. The attendants did not react or intervene in any way. During the race, she hit four of the five of us that drove and at the end when the carts were pulling off the track, she slammed into the back of my son’s cart at full speed. She didn’t even attempt to slow down. The attendants claimed to not have seen any of it. As soon as the race was over, she headed back to the bar and was served again. When I spoke to the manager, he seemed completely unconcerned about anything that happened and confused about why I had asked to speak to him. I declined his offer of a free race and told him I just wanted to make sure that the management was aware of the safety violations so that no one else would get hurt. He said he would talk to his staff but that they were really busy and couldn’t keep an eye on the track at all times. He would not speak with the driver or do anything to keep her from driving again that afternoon. When we played laser tag, my husband’s gun shot once, then didn’t work for the rest of the game. When he told the attendant, he shrugged and said, “yeah. It’s been doing that all day.” He didn’t take the gun out of rotation, just left it there to be used in the next game. Several of the arcade games took money off our cards but did not work. When we alerted staff to the problem, they offered to put money back on our cards but did not fix the games or turn them off, leaving them open to steal other people’s money. Other games we were able to play but did not distribute prize tickets as they should have. Even if all the games worked, the selection is small and pretty dull.
We had our company party (48 people) and it was by far our favorite event to date. Working with the Amp Up team was a breeze. We worked on pricing, what the evening looked like, and even helped set up a special station for a caricature artist. I was really worried about not having enough food (problems with precious places) and there was more than enough and they wrapped up all of the extras for us to take home. Spectacular night, 100000/10 would recommend.
If only ZERO stars was an Option… I had high hopes trying a place for the first time but boy are we disappointed. The RUDE Staff will definitely be the reason this place goes out of business, unless a child gets injured first. Its ashame because it could be a ton of fun at a great location, with great equipment. The young man running the ropes course had his music in one ear, no harness or ability to help the kids, or even hear them call for help. He never measured any of them, huffed and rolled his eyes when my child got stuck on the course and I asked him to help. The Asst mgr (Caleb) said the course attendant was too heavy to go up there and that scrolling on the phone and listening to an airpod instead is acceptable. Our party host (Ella?) was non existent. She did not coordinate anything other than cooking the pizza. (Sorry its because she is sick today, Caleb said) NOT the excuse you want to hear about someone just prepared food for 8 kids. The go carts were the best part of the place but the rides are so short and the helmets are very germy. Needless to say we will Not be Returning. Pricey is expected, rude, unprofessional, immature, hungover, undertrained staff with bad attidudes is a definite NO!
Amp Up is a nice place for indoor fun. The go-karts are definitely a highlight, though the ride time is pretty short at just 10 minutes, which feels a bit expensive for what you get. That said, I have to give a shoutout to the young staff—they’re all friendly, helpful, and polite, which really adds to the overall experience.
The remarkable ambiance of this establishment evokes a sense of home for me. I appreciate the absence of simple wooden chairs, replaced instead by comfortable sofas. The prompt service exceeded my expectations, and the axe throwing experience reached an exceptional level. I would suggest reconsidering the age restrictions for axe throwing, extending them to individuals aged 17 and above.
