I went at 2 AM with my 9 weeks old kitten and the staff was amazing. The techs were really nice and helpful and I really liked the veterinarian, Dre Judy Chukwu. She took the time to explain everything to me and to discuss options. I did not feel pushed or rushed. She was amazing! Flocon went in for an upset tummy and because he was not eating. We went home with a solid plan to help him feel better! Thank you!!
Huge shout out to the staff last evening for your awesome care, compassion and professionalism. I can't thank you enough. It was a very stressful time for Bug( and me) anticipating a c-section after many hours of labor that proved to be unproctive. As my clinic in Russell was unable to accommodate Bug, I called your clinic, you responded, I came in and you were ready for the task. Bug felt so comfortable in her new surroundings, she decided the time was right and finally produced a puppy while I filled out paperwork. The team quickly tended to Bug and baby and before long, a second and then a third puppy was born. Needless to say she didn't need a section after all. We got back to Russell safe and sound and by 1:00a.m. this morning, the 10th and final puppy was born. (See attached pics). Thank you again for everything, Mary Anne Lauzon Kriscoland Labradors Russell, ON
Truly exceptional care. I brought my cat, Vader, to this pet emergency clinic during an end-of-life situation, and I can honestly say the staff was next-level professional. In 15 years of caring for my cat, I’ve never experienced this level of calm, compassion, and respect. They handled everything with real thoughtfulness—clear communication, gentle support, and zero pressure—while keeping the focus on what mattered: my cat’s comfort and dignity. I’m deeply grateful for how they managed such a hard moment. Highly recommend.
I recently had to bring my cat, Peanut, to the Ottawa Animal Emergency and Specialty Hospital for a medication-related emergency, and I was met with exceptional care and compassion from the moment we walked through the door. Peanut was seen promptly and placed on IV fluids right away. The reception team was incredibly helpful, answering all my questions and offering emotional support during such a stressful time. A special thank you to Kelly, who helped me through the night, your kindness and understanding truly made a huge difference. Dr. Leslie Davenport provided outstanding care for Peanut and took the time to answer every question I had. The Vet Tech team was amazing, monitoring Peanut’s vitals throughout the night, feeding her, tracking everything diligently, and keeping me updated. They even set up an iPad so Peanut could watch an aquarium video for cats while receiving her IV fluids—a thoughtful touch that meant so much. It is clear that everyone at the clinic genuinely cares for animals. The environment itself is calming and soothing, which I deeply appreciated during such a difficult experience. Thank you to the entire staff at the Ottawa Animal Emergency and Specialty Hospital, and especially to Dr. Davenport and Kelly. Because of your incredible care and support, Peanut is still with me today and has made it into 2026. She may not have too long because of the recent cancer diagnosis but for now, she is doing well. She is eating, playing, cuddling, and doing well considering. I am beyond grateful and I can’t thank you enough.
Thank you to the team at the Animal Emergency and Specialty Hospital for the care and compassion shown to me and Ky during our visit. I could tell everyone on the team has a genuine love for animals and felt Ky was in good hands with them. The vet and vet techs really took the time to listen to my concerns, review all her past medical records, run appropriate tests and communicate everything to me in advance so there were no surprises when it came time for payment. We are treating her at home with the medications and hope she recovers soon. Thank you again to everyone on the team for making a stressful day a little easier on us.
