Maybe you could start your painting here, but that’s just it. It was not much of teaching. I had an intro to oil painting course with Nancy. Maybe she is a nice artist. But she absolutely cannot teach. No system, no normal explanations. Though she even tried to print out some tips. That’s still almost nothing. You could just watch numerous videos for beginners in oil painting on youtube and learn much more. You only have studio time for your money. Another big problem is parking. You can hardly find parking space in the street. They have their private parking in the alley, but it’s organized as a stack or “last-in-first-out” system. Two cars always block all others. It could be not a big problem, if only people could be not so nervous about it. I heard so much bullying about that. I am not returning here definitely, the atmosphere is very unpleasant. Beginners class is supposed to be very encouraging and covering basics definitions. I had to research for basics myself. There wasn’t given much at the classes.
If I could give this place 10 stars I would. I took a workshop over the weekend and was so surprised at the attention that I received. My teacher Jen was so supportive and insightful. Really made me feel great and I was able to explore my creativity freely. Will be taking more classes here!
Cute school. Stopped by to a friend's piece that was on exhibit. Seems like a we're inclusive warm space. Really enjoyed the gallery and the class that was going on while we were there.
¡No puedo decir suficientes cosas buenas sobre este lugar! Recibí un certificado de regalo para Art on 30th por Navidad, lo que me llevó a tomar mi primera clase en abril, Abstract Art with Ann. ¡Mucho por aprender y tanta diversión a lo largo del viaje! Me fui con una pasión renovada por el arte, nuevas habilidades y amigos para toda la vida. ¡Lo que Kate ha creado aquí no es nada menos que increíble! Ella y todo su equipo de personal e instructores son tan apasionados por lo que hacen que se nota y están dispuestos a compartir sus técnicas con los estudiantes y su amor por el arte con la comunidad de San Diego; es enriquecedor para la comunidad. Un entorno de apoyo tan maravilloso para todos, desde el artista experimentado hasta el novato absoluto. Es mucho más que un aula o un espacio de estudio; es una comunidad. Cuando tomas una clase allí, sientes el sentido de comunidad y el amor por el arte. Recomiendo encarecidamente tomar una clase o, como mínimo, venir a una de las inauguraciones de arte y verlo por ti mismo!
