Drove to Bees Nursery from Modesto and so glad we did! Tony has a massive selection of tropical fruit trees. If you are looking for a mature fruit tree that will give you fruit first year this is the place. We bought a Alphonso mango tree about five feet tall with multiple limbs and blooms in beautiful condition. Tony was so helpful, informing us of how to care for our mango tree. There are beautiful peacocks and many other types of birds on the property. They helped load the tree in our vehicle which was wonderful cause it was large and heavy. One tip bring cash or have Zelle. If you forget cash as I did there is a CVS about 1.5 miles up the street that has ATM. We will definitely be returning to Bees for all our tropical trees.

They have a very impressive selection of large (15G+) rare tropical trees — easily a 10-star collection if I could give that rating. The place is a bit hard to find since there’s no signage, so the house number on the mailbox is your best bet. When it came to customer service, our impression of Tony matched what other reviewers noted — he seemed unhelpful. We were the only customers there, so it wasn’t that he was busy. When we asked whether he had more Hichya persimmon trees besides the one we saw, or if he carried Santa Clara Gold avocado, both times the answer was simply: “If you see it there, it’s there.” We had hoped for a little more guidance after driving so far. Maybe he was tired. But overall, the experience left us feeling it probably isn’t worth another 3+ hour round trip to come back.

What a cool place. I'm so glad that we finally made it here. It's way bigger than I was anticipating. I came out of it thinking "This is how I go broke, fast." This isn't because the prices were too high, but I wanted to buy so many things. I need to come back when I figure out how to fit everything into my (sadly limited) yard. Most plants looked healthy and happy. Even the ones not under the shade covers looked good. The couple of staff members we encountered were super nice and friendly. Please note, not everyone speaks English and not everything is marked with a clear name or price. Don't let that deter you though. I used Google lens to figure out what certain things where and that worked awesome. As for the staff, I'm pretty dang confident that if you are ready to purchase that the staff would call or lead you to the main office where there is someone who can speak English to work with you. I'm super excited to come back and actually bring stuff back home.

I drove 5 hours from the central coast with a huge cargo van. this place has many fruit trees that are not sold in any of the nurserys In my county or surrounding county. When I got there the front gate was closed but there is a 2nd gate 100 ft down the road that was open so make sure if the front gate is closed to check the 2nd gate. I pulled in and was greeted by the onwers Mother. She doesn't speak English but it's not a problem you can call the phone number listed in google and Tony the owner will answer and translate what you are looking for to her if he is not there. Tony owns a nursery in Florida growing rare tropicals fruit trees that he brings to California so he is sometimes not there. Some of the fruit trees are labeled in English and some are labeled in Vietnamese you can use your phone and Google the ones that are labeled in Vietnamese to show the English name of the tree. I bought Brazilian cherry, jaboticaba, 2 different varieties of jujube's, mango, lychee, peanut butter fruit, calamansi lime, white sapotae, sapodilla fruit trees, and a few other plants. The reason I chose to go here was the amount of rare fruit trees he has and the prices out beat the other nurserys that sell tropicals in So Cal. Thank you Tony.

Nursery has a good collection of mango trees, but very disorganized and the trees are not looking healthy. Most plants have no name tags or prices on them. We asked the guy working there, Tony, and he snapped at us saying “you need to look around and find your plant. If you like the plant, you buy it.” They got them from LA and it’s hard to grow them here in Northern California. Most mangoes plants have black spots on their leaves and look unhealthy.
